fatdaddy

I always thought that you were the smart ass
and I was the one opinionated.

I am just bummed out about the prospect of taking 3 grand loss from what I could have sold it for.
I don't blame you Scott, sorry for your loss........hopefully something will come your way shortly to make up for it.
Again, sorry about the car Bro.

Scott have you done a Internet search for a watchdog[no pun intended] site or forum that covers these sort of Insurance claims...

Contrary to popular belief there are other real smart and savvy folks on the web daily who do not visit MJ's

what is a watchdog ? Ruffff.

no thanks on the savvy folks part, I prefer degenerative gamblers.

I mean who would be more likely to have a car stolen , the savvy folks , or The People of Madjacks

the car has been found.

but the police do not call me yet.

The insurance guy calls and says, they found your car and here is a number to get them at.

OK what condidtion is it in ?

I dont know he says.

Well thats not showing too much concern over my vehicle. And after all you are my insurance agent to protect me when things like this happen ?

well right.....

Stolen car update.

It really is a pain in the ass to have a vehicle stolen.
They found my wifes car 5 days after it was stolen and it was located within 15 miles of where it was parked.

Had to go down to the police station and get a release for the vehicle by taking the registration, filling out paperwork, and paying for police wrecker and storage fees.

Get to the car yard and the car has the drivers window busted out. There was even glass in the trunk, and we never did figure out how that happened. They took the ignition switch out and I think you can start it with a screwdriver from there. I had a nice CD player with bose speakers in the car and they were gone. Inside kinda messed up. Right tire rim bent bad like they had hit something at speed. Front bumper damage on right side. Scratchs on paint.

Anyway, they sent a agent to access the damage and they called me and said they were going to total the car.

I was prepared for the worst as we had 1000 dollar deductable on it.

Also had to fill out 3 pages of questions from State Farm and have it notarized.

Ends up the total value they offered me minus the 1000 ended up being close to the same thing I was selling it for.

I was amazed and went today and brought them the title and picked up the check.

If they had not totaled it I would have had to come out of pocket for the first 1000.

Anyway it worked out for the best and I don't have to worry about it anymore.

thanks for those that expressed concern.

At least nobody was in the car when they took it.

Tough break.

For what it's worth, I have simple kill switches hidden in all my vehicles. They have to work a little harder to take one of them. also use a club, that doesn't actually work correctly, but is for show on the wheel.

Buy a car with ONSTAR and add kill switches. Also you can pick out a car that is not popular to be stolen. Finally don't deck it out with a nice stereo and some fancy speakers and other accessories. The nicer the car the more probable that it will be rolled on you. You also might check into LOJACK, that or get a BIG DOBE or one of the other mean DOGS and keep him inside when it is parked anywhere. After all you are the KING OF DOGS and who would want to lift a car with a load of dog krap in it. LOL

Glad you were INDEMNIFIED correctly.

AGENT tell us all what INDEMNIFICATION means.

Love those insurance companies. Also you might hold a quick class on BETTERMENT also, AGENT.

They build every day just go buy another one and move on down the highway of life !
