The Wednesday night duel between Washington?s Stephen Strasburg and Cincinnati?s Bronson Arroyo highlights a great day of aces. Here?s the MLB preview from BroburySports.com.

Washington is a -120 road favorite. ESPN is thrilled to have the first pitch is 7:10 pm ET.

Strasburg (4-2, 2.03 ERA) didn?t make the All-Star Game, which made baseball purists proud and entertainment fans disappointed. He clearly would have brought excitement to what is turning into a more boring event each year.

The 21-year-old phenom continues to wow every time he steps on the mound. He has a high 90s fastball, a Nolan Ryan type curve and an emerging changeup. That has helped his strikeout rate to become a whopping 12.58.

Strasburg?s last start came Friday at Florida. He surrendered four hits and no runs over six innings. He?s made three road starts overall and his 2.03 ERA is identical to his home mark (2.04). The only thing he needs to work on is cutting down on walks.

Arroyo (10-4, 3.96 ERA) is a quality pitcher and an innings eater. He?s 3-0 with a 1.29 ERA in his last three starts and is tied for third in NL wins. Arroyo doesn?t rely on dominant stuff, but is a crafty guy who cut his teeth in the tough AL East with Boston.

He?ll have to shine again on Wednesday to take down Strasburg. One thing for sure, a lot of people will be tuned in.

Chicago White Sox (+135) at Seattle Mariners ? 10:10 pm

Gavin Floyd (5-8, 4.10 ERA) doesn?t have ace numbers overall. However, he has a miniscule 1.30 ERA in his last eight starts. Chicago has also won five of his last six starts.

Hernandez (7-6, 2.90 ERA) has a 2.23 ERA the last couple of months, duplicating his 2009 form when he went 19-5 with a 2.49 ERA. He still doesn?t have a lot of wins to show for his effort, but they?ve come much more rapidly since June 1.

I love great pitching and this guy (S.S.) has delivered, so far. Hope he doesn't burn his arm out as some young, hard-tossers do.

Not sure I agree with that "cutting down the walks" necessity, mind you.
Last 4 games has been a little higher, with 9 over 23.1 or app.3.5 per 9 IP, but in 3 of his 1st 4 starts he had 0 walks each time; 5 in the other was his, um, career high.
Overall, 14 in 48.2 is only 2.6 per 9 IP.
Compare it to some of today's other better SP's, for 2010:
Arroyo:3 per 9
Hanson:2.9 per 9
Garcia:3.6 per 9 and even 3/9 at home, what with his 1.49 era at Busch
Zito:3.5 per 9
Chad:3.2 per 9
Floyd:2.8 per 9
Felix:2.6 per 9 same-same

Best I can tell, of today's bunch, only Nolasco, Haren, Liriano and Greinke walk fewer per 9.

14 BB and 68 K in 48.2 IP?
With only 3 HR surrendered?
(2 solo shots and the other a 2-run bomb vs pittsburgh in his debut)

Has anybody else had numbers like these through their first 8 starts?
Would be nice if he could last longer but the Nats are doing the right thing by keeping the outtings shorter.

One other blabber-on...
I read an article, before his last start, that his weakness was giving up runs in the first inning.
(cough)
In 3 of his 8 starts he has given up runs in the 1st inning. 1 each time.
I see pitch 1-15 he has an era of 0.00, which can often close the 1st.
The weakness, if it's one, so far, is with pitches 16-30 where he has an era of 6.75. A whopping 6.2 innings of work, mind you, not to mention a BAA of .208 to go along with the inflato.

Numbers can mislead, (more than) perhaps.

I hope I can get the game later. I think the myp2p forum indicates from the USA only.

Any other good sites for live streaming on-line?
