My son's friend showed him Letmewatch----.--- (dont want to give whole name)and says it is legit. Anyone know of this (fill in the blank) or any others? Are these legal or very scrutinized? Thanks.

That sight is ok, but many out there much better.
Only "illegal" if posting a PPV stream.
Now yes, any sporting event is illegal to stream unless you have "league permission". But really it is all about streaming PPV's that gets some into trouble.
Just my two cents.
