Well, it looks like we may be heading towards an autumn without professional football.
I was wondering if there was any way to analyze the financials (p&l) on the Packers? Aren't they publically owned? Do any of these teams disclose their ledgers for public consumption?
Is it greed of the owners/corporation that is driving the need to control costs or is it a fiscal necessity? The NFL is such a successful/popular commodity and I would have to think that an act such as a lockout would not be a wise business decision for future sales growth. Unless it is necessary, you would think pissing off and alienating the consumer would be the last thing a successful company would choose to do?
I just think it would be interesting to see how much profit sharing with the work force is really cutting into these owners bottom line?
