4 units......san diego (+2) over gonzaga

been nailing top plays over the last few weeks, and this one should be no different. just an ideal spot for the toreros. they took gonzaga to the wire 2 weeks ago, theyre playing with double in-season revenge, they get the conference tourney final on their home floor, and the zags are already in the dance regardless of a win or loss. had keep not gotten into foul trouble, usd would have been in a much different position two saturdays ago- and the toreros would likely have won that game imo. the usd team is on fire right now. theyve come so close to knocking gonzaga off over the last few years- it finally happens tonight. both teams are off of easy wins last night so both should be ready. toreros are about to go dancing.

i've got this game circled also; it's probably my favorite play on the board, just edging out siu +3 and uncw -6. from his thread, i expect jr44 to post this game up also. i consider him very sharp concerning wcc teams, so if by chance he plays the other side i may take my play down. otherwise i'll be on the toreros tonight. g/l

loophole:

that southern illinois/creighton game is impossible to cap. i lean slightly to creighton, but that game is a true toss-up, especially since both teams will likely make the dance regardless now that theyve reached the conference final. the missouri valley is one of the few mid-majors that will send an at-large team aside from their conference tourney champ. its a toss-up. gl with your play.

djv:

yes, its played on san diegos home floor.

Love the San Diego pick Gman! Will be on them for sure. I am taking the four conference championship dogs with the bulk weighted on S. Illinois and Diego. Creighton has fallen off and in my opinion is now tremendously overvalued. S.Ill handled them pretty well at home last week and I think they will do it again here.

How can SIU not win this game? They will be up for some revenge from last year and should win this game. Im just scared though Creighton might be thinking of revenge factor and pull out some good shooting tonight.

Both teams are hot in the West Coast Championship. I gotta go with you boys on S.D. They usually play them preety good. They have won 3 out of the last 4 from them.

GOOD LUCK

1 unit.......drexel/wilmington under 129

seems like the linesmaker is taking a stand here, keeping the number under 130 (currently at 129). not only were both meetings this year high scoring, but to me theres a big "aesthetic difference" between a total of 129 and 130. sounds trivial, but its kinda like the difference between something that costs 99 cents as opposed to one dollar. 129 just seems low- given the fact that the first meeting was 88-86 in overtime (77 all after regulation) and the second meeting was 72-59. if theres any CAA buffs out there, is my memory serving me correctly in that i recall the last few years of the CAA tourney championship games to be really low scoring and slow-paced games? i swear the last few years of the CAA finals have been big time defensive battles.

trying the under for a unit regardless

1 unit....creighton (-3) over southern illinois

im as contrarian a capper as youll find, but simply feel creighton wins and covers here. both teams are in the dance regardless, so this game is more for bragging rights than anything else. i just think creighton is undervalued- coming off two one-point wins in consecutive nights. jays have certainly played like dog sh1t the last few games. but i just think theyll meet the challenge here. not really even playing the revenge angle. i dont think it matter here. just think creighton is a little better on a neutral court than southern illinois

most astonishing part of the whole game:

gonzaga scored 15 points in the first 3:00 of the game
then scored just 48 the final 37:00 of the game

toreros to the dance

hellah:

it would not surprise me at all if ohio won the tourney. thats how up and down this mac season has been.

central michigan really does have all the pieces, but they havent gotten it done when its gotten down to nut-cutting time in recent years.

this is what i honestly think:

the winner of the ohio/miami game will win the mac tourney.

shocking perhaps, but i really think the winner of that game wins the tourney for some reason.

not shocking at all my friend....both you and i know the fear that Charlie Coles brings to his opponets come MAC Tourny time.

Glad to hear you`ll be going. Iam hoping to make it Friday and Saturday. Was hoping my Rockets won tonight that way I could go Thursday....but obviously that wasnt the case...

yep- its amazing how you can just plan on miami being a dangerous team year in and year out in the mac tourney, regardless of regular season performance. coles is truly a masterful coach in that respect.

miami reminds me SO MUCH of nc state.

tons of talented athletes playing disciplined half court basketball. both teams run a version of the princeton offense. both are well-coached. both play balls out defense. and both will be very dangerous in their respective conference tourney

i think ohio is talented enough to win the mac obviously, but beating a coles-coached team twice in the span of like 10 days is gonna be awfully awfully tough
