normally stick with a unit or two per play in baseball, but every now and then a strong one pops up and ill play it for 3.5 units. so far, 2-0 on the 3.5 unit plays this year. played this one equally as strong as those two.
3.5 units.....cleveland/seattle under 9.5
this has been a dead under series this year. the 3 games in safeco saw 2 unders and 1 over, but the one over came as a result of an absolute meltdown in the 9th inning by both closers at the time (sasaki and baez) (3-2 game heading into the 9th. indians score 3 off sasaki in the top of the 9th, mariners score 5 off baez in the bottom of the 9th). but generally speaking, all 3 games were big time pitching duels. indians/rangers series over the past weekend skews the total a little bit. anyone can play slugfests with texas, even the weak hitting indians, but i dont think that justifies this total tonight being 9.5. anderson is capable of going 6 or 7 if need be to save the bullpen. and tribe should struggle with pineiro.
also played 1 unit on houston (-120) purely on principle. astros just totally seem to be in the pirates heads right now. the last two weeks theyve played close games for 5 or 6 innings and then houston just unloads on the pittsburgh pen in the late innings. playing the streak, even though suppan's been tough.
