Detroit is saving Verlander, I guess for next season?? Yanks smash finesse pitching. I do see Nova giving up atleast 3 runs. I see a 6-4 Yankees victory. I am a huge yankees fan so im not complaining about the not starting of verlander. Just think its a very dumb move!! Play for today, not next week. There is no next week for either team. Tigers had their chance to win against Burnett. AJ got away with alot of mistakes. That would not happen against tex or philly.

I know it was said that Verlander is "unavailable" but it's no guarantee that he won't make an appearance. He's already stated he's gonna try and sneak down to the bullpen...LOL!!!! I wouldn't count out the old man Leyland....he wasn't born yesterday. He knows what he's doin.
If your going to bring him in relief, why not just start him??? I bet he wouldnt be comfortable in relief anyway:nono: .
Different guys recover in different ways. When I pitched in college, I was toast after a start. 2 or 3 days rest was out of the question. I played with guys that could throw on no rest, but I never could. Leyland knows his guys and isn't saving shit.
As a yankee fan im getting tired of the let downs. A-Fraud has got to go!!! Biggest choke artist in the game! Fister looked decent in his 5 innings of work. I guess it worked out ok for the tigers after all in this series. A real team like texas should be able to put the tigers away.
They probably would have easily if Leyland let Verlander throw last night.
Now that they can use him in game one, that makes the series a toss up.
B/c if your team scores a bunch of runs in the first few innings you would then be wasting him,
fister got lucky as far as I'm concerned,he was missing his spot bad all night and Yanks failed to take advantage,hence Tigers won and I'm happy.Boils down to Yanks terrific hitters didn't come through!!!!
