Its time for the big boys to step up on Sunday and make

Sun and gman, while I don't totally agree here, if I was to wager on this one, it would definitely be against my beloved Cowboys. While I do not see OSU stumbling here SU, this game could easily go to the dog, ATS-wise. Believe me, I was rooting for the 'Cocks to beat the Tigers so OSU wouldn't even have to deal with this team. They are potentially very, very dangerous as South Carolina found out. Potentially being the key word.

All that being said, I don't see any real wagering value here for either side. One team is pretty solid with relative consistency (OSU) and the other is rather Jeckyll and Hyde (Memphis). It all depends on which Memphis team shows up here as to who covers. I am not willing to wager on which Memphis team comes to the floor tomorrow.

It is obvious that the Tigers can be deadly from 3-land, and they have some inside punch. Cowboys are all of that, too, along with great D and heady players. One thing you can guarantee is that Carney and Co. won't have nearly as many open looks as their last game. The Tigers will not have a major quickness advantage like they were able to successfully exploit against S. Car, and it is also unlikely that they enjoy the type of rebounding advantage they had on Friday. To me this is just not one to get involved with, but that is only one man's opinion.

One other thing to keep in mind, here. Memphis led from wire-to-wire on Friday. Confidence was sky-high from the tip, eveything was falling and all was good in Tiger-land. What happens if they get behind big, early? Do they pack it in or actually respond? I just don't know if I would put much trust in Memphis in that type of situation. Maybe I am dead wrong about this team's heart and have a bad read about Calipari's kids, but from the several times I have seen them this year it is all or nothing with them. Like I said before, that does not make for a very fun team to wager on or against.

Good Luck to All,

-JC

It makes for a very fun team to wager against.

An up and down team Memphis against OK ST who beat Texas twice this year. OKie also beat #16 Kansas by 20 points.

Do you think Memphis could beat Texas ? hell no. Kansas would give memphis a game and Kansas is nothing to write home about.

These are exactly the games we need to nail. We won't
keep getting value much longer as we go into the sweet 16.
When we get there you better be able to pick a winner.

Lines will get closer and tighter after Sunday.

Kansas City
Okie State has quite a few fans here in Kansas City for the games as this is Big 12 country & most Kansas fans that are there at Kemper Arena to watch the 1st game should root for the Cowboys which should give them an edge over Memphis .... as earlier poster said not sure how MSU will respond if they fall behind early and the crowd gets rolling .... believe me this will help OSU similar to the edge KU gets from being at Kemper (fan support) .... also the tenacious defense & maybe time running out a bit for Eddie Sutton will be enough for OSU to cover -6 in my opinion .... Can't imagine Sutton will coach to much longer will he??

memphis
help needed. memphis has not been blown out all year. they play up to the opponent. this team is very inconsistent. they lost 2 of 3 to ville & cinncy. they have nothing in the paint. the forward/center area is a travesty. the only points are from deep and in transition. ok st defends both well. i see a long day for memphis. banks is very good but cannot finish to his left. i will be on ok st if the line does not reach 7.

KOD,

I understand exactly what you are saying and believe me, I would be ecstatic if you win your wager on my alma mater. I will certainly be rooting for them with my entire heart. Wagering on them is another matter, here. Like I said, Memphis is all OR nothing. It is not the "nothing" part of that saying that you worry about when you bet against them, it is the "all" part. If they play up to their talent potential for a full 40 minutes, OSU will have a very tough game on their hands. I just think they are a tough team to get a good read on. I am sure others who follow them more closely may have a better read than I do. To me, they are the type of team that I personally find difficult betting on or against. IMO, if I were to place a wager on this game it would be something akin to a coin flip. While noone ever knows what will happen before a game starts, I like to think through solid research and handicapping I can have more of an edge than 50/50 shots in the dark. That is why I personally see no value in this one.

Good Luck to All,

-JC

The value is in your quote about Memphis.

Its right there in front of us.

Memphis is all OR nothing. It is not the "nothing" part of that saying that you worry about when you bet against them, it is the "all" part. If they play up to their talent potential for a full 40 minutes, OSU will have a very tough game on their hands.

...........................................................................

This far into the tournament is when the cream rises to the top.
teams that may or may not show up do not fall into the category
of teams that advance. Ok St will show up and play hard the whole game.

Keep betting against OSU Sun tzu and maybe after you lose enough money you might find some respect for the Cowboys. They only beat Texas 3 times this year and will be going to the sweet 16 withem. I know its hard to back a team from Okla. being from Texas. Just keep betting against them a losing.money. LOL.

Looks like the Big 12 has not had a down year after all as you stated before backing your statement that OSU would not do well in the tourney. 3 teams in the sweet 16. Nice run for the teams in the big twelve. Not trying to bash Sun it just seems you have a grudge against the Cowboys. Just keep doubling up and maybe you will get your money back?
