the world could very well be coming to an end, as i normally eschew conference road chalk, especially in a rivalry game. but just feel like the devils hammer carolina today, as coach k seemed less than pleased after their recent efforts vs st.johns and the 2h of the fsu game. and there isnt any senior-day atmosphere at carolina. hell, carolina could win outright and then ill be reminded of why i refuse to play conference road chalk. but i gotta try it here in this spot.

pathetic play (by me) on duke minus the points. yes, carolina hit every shot imaginable, but duke is simply not playing well. should have been smarter and recognized that.

It just looks like its time to go with a favorite Carolina, Rutgers, Villanova, and the push by the Jayhawks.
a few reasons:
1) conference road chalk is suicide. not to mention the acc is the hardest conference in which to win a road game in the entire country.
2) terps really have nothing to play for. no conference implications, no #1 seed in the ncaa tourney or anything. not trying to lessen the importance of a game, but it really means little to maryland.
3) virginia, as terrible as theyve been lately, has always given maryland trouble in this gym. and the cavaliers pulled the upset in maryland earlier this year. perhaps some will look to the revenge angle, but getting the revenge in a meaningless game AND covering is not going to be easy for maryland.
4) terps have been terrible ATS on the road this year in conference. i normally dont pay attention to ATS records, as they mean d1ck to me, but marylands is worth noting because they seem to be a team content to just "win and get out of town". theyre not blowing anyone out on the road

tallyin everything up. picked up just under 3 units on the day with the virginia game and 2h cover. not quite as good a day as saturday, but sure beats a sharp stick in the eye (quoting a famous burnout).

That was a great game last night with Detroit and Butler. Green's foul trouble getting only 29 minutes really hurt Titans.
How do you see Tuesday's Wisky-Mil v Butler game. I wonder what line will be here, but I can already tell you I will probably go with Wisky-Mil, as I have Butler down as a chronically overvauled squad.
I can't believe you took Puke today, that was so "un-Gman".

youre absolutely right, duke was an un-gman like play. that game sums up why i refuse to lay chalk on the road, especially in conference. dumb play by me. every now and then, we break out tendencies and make a dumb play. that was mine for the month.
re: butler/milwaukee
i think the line will be a "pick" to tell you the truth. i dont see butler being favored here. tough game. at least the horizon got their dream matchup. as well as udm and illinois-chicago perenially are come tourney time, butler and milwaukee are head and shoulders above everyone in the horizon league. i think the game will be a pick.
