Koz -Thanks for posting the tips. If you have explained previously, I apologize for asking again. But do you play exactas with your first two selections, then tris and supers with only the first two on top? Thanks again.

Thanks for posting your picks :toast:

I also have question on your selections

If you could tell me how you bet the 1st race it would be great

#1 3/1w/9/5- 8

I believe his notation is deciphered as:
#1= Race 1

3/1= horse 1 and 3 are his key horses with the first one with greater importance.

w= with 9/5

Therefore: exactas are 3/9, 3/1, 1/9, 1/5

8= longshot

Koz was nice enough to note previously how he bets these races but, how would you bet it?

I think you have to box the five as you are hoping you get the LS in the win/place position. If you box for $1 that is a wager of $24.

Hamster, to your example, I think you have to get at least a 3/1 box don't you if you think those are the top two.

I have been following these plays and bet selectively but, I have been using various "off the book" strategies and then check those against results. I haven't found a way to consistently be profitable yet if I try to cover both the exacta and some W/P/S wagers not to mention throwing in the trifecta.

I have also looked at only the trifecta with, from your example using

1/3/8*with all*with all for $1 as most of the offshores with not let you bet less than that.

Thanks to Koz for capping and posting.

This is the majority of a conversation from May 13th in this thread. Let me also say that I don't question at all if Koz makes money as he is clearly a thoughful and talented capper. Figuring out betting strategies and how others approach races is another enoyable part of the game.

This is from Koz:

I'll play Win, Ex Bx, Tri Bx and some Superfecta's. For example, yesterday Race 2 I selected the 4/7w/3/2- 8 . The first two horses are my Key horses for my Exactas and horses I play too win. So for the exacta I will sometimes play the 4,7/2,3,4,7,8. The Trifecta I usually just Box my 4 or 5 selections. As far as the Superfecta goes, I Box all of my selections. Now that I've probably confused you I will say this. I usually don't tell people how to play . People have their own betting styles and bankrolls . Some people hate Exotics. So for those people I would play my 2 Key Choice and my Longshot to Win. But if a horse get heavy action late forget it, not worth betting $2. for a horse that will pay $2.40 ya know. Exacta bettors, Key my First 2 choices with my other selections or Box all 4 or 5 of them. Same with the Tri's and Superfecta. Kinda depends on your bankroll. Now all that said, I watch the tote board, Exotics probables for Exacta's etc.. all before the race. Sometimes I'll post a longshot at 12/1 when I post and it will take heavy action, so I may not add it to a play ya know. But, I select 4 horses and a longshot with those things in mind. I hope this helps, if not let me know and I'll try again till I get it right. If I had time every night I would post my selections "Live" so these things little changes can be worked out. I like when bettors stay away from what I like, better value for me. All in all, if you play and use my selections and incorporate them into your style you can make money. Let me know if you have anymore questions or need me to be clearer. Thanks.

Bottom line is that I think him's winning and that's all that matters.
