Phoenix at Minnesota..................................................................................

Phx is 10-17-5 away
MN is 12-16-7 at home

Teams have met twice this season, each winning on home ice
Phx won 2-1, nov 20 (Esche/Roloson). and MN won 5-2, nov 23 (Esche/Roloson). "They were pretty much at their best", said Phx's Langkow about the loss, "and we were close to our worse game of the year". and all 5 meetings before that 5-2 went under.

Roloson is now coming off two shutouts, Fernandez just started, and Wild coach usually rotates these fellows, but both the MN papers today say that Fernandez will start in goal today. He's given up 3 or more goals in each of his last nine starts.

Esche will start for Phx say paper, to give Burke some time out--after his last amazing performance, sick with flu and taking 42 shots on slushy ice.

Coyotes 8-1-1 last 10 games, and 6-2-1 last 9 on road
MN 5-4-1 last 10, and 3-1 last four.

Phx has scored 2 goals in first period in 7 of last 9 games.

Phx is 21-15-1 on 1 day rest, and 10-6-1 on 1 day after win
MN is 3-3-1 on 3+ days rest, and 3-3 after loss ( last was OT).

MN is 2-4-1 ATS in day games
Phx is 16-8 ATS as a favorite

Phx is 1-1-1 in MN all time

Wild's Zholtok is out again, along with Kuba and Walz.

Colorado at Nashville

Colorado at Nashville

Colo is 17-13-4 away
Nash is 15-12-7 at home

Teams have met twice this season. first a 4-4 ties at Nash, jan 1 (Dunham/Roy), then Nash 5-2 over Colorado at Colo jan 30 (Roy/Vokoun). Colo played sloppy, "we were awful" said coach.

Avs are playing their third game in four nights, with back to back starts--beat Phila yesterday afternoon.

Roy started yesterday, could see Aebischer today.

Colo is 3-5-1 on 0 days rest, and 2-3-1 after a win
Nash is 9-17-6 on 0 days rest, and 7-9-4 after a loss

Avs are 7-2-1 last 10
Nash 3-6-1 last 10. But played very hard last game, with season high 42 shots on goal, but lost--game stolen by a sick Sean Burke.

Nash just traded away the only captain team ever had, now they traded away their leading scorer for past four years sez here................................................http://www.tennessean.com/sports/predators/archives/02/03/14982628.shtml?Element_ID=14982628

Colorado get to go home after this, ending the four game road swing. Take on WA tues

Nash next is to STL tues.

Buffalo @ Tampa

Buffalo @ Tampa

I found this tidbit on the Sabres website...

...The Sabres have shown that they can rebound after losing. Since January 6, they are 7 ? 1 ? 1 in games following a loss and they have outscored opponents 29 - 15...

Similiar to the Bruins last year when they were fighting to get into the post season - they seemed to play better after realizing they blew it the game before.

=====

Although Buffalo goaltender Martin Biron turned in a poor performance against the Florida Panthers Friday night, Lindy Ruff announced after that game that Biron would start against the Lightning.

Lindy also announced that Buffalo would carry three goaltenders for the remainder of the season. That means Mika Noronen remains with the team.

"We?ll keep the three of them," said Ruff. "We?ll keep Mika the rest of the way. I don?t think initially we intended to keep him. We knew we just couldn?t, the way the schedule was, keep playing Marty."

Ruff will go with the same lineup tonight that we have seen in recent games. That means the scratches will be Denis Hamel, Jason Woolley, and Bob Essensa.

Florida at Ottawa

Florida at Ottawa

FL is 9-19-4 on road
Ott is 17-11-3 at home

Teams met twice this season. Ott won both. 2-0 in Oct, and 4-2 in Nov. Both at FL.

AP sez
"Ottawa leads the season-series with the Panthers, 2-0, and has won five straight against them. The Senators have outscored Florida, 20-10, since a 3-1 loss to the Panthers on October 28, 2000."

FL may start Kidd today claims newspaper here.......................................http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/sports/hockey/2876634.htm

Lalime just off start, so will probably see Hurme today. He's author of that shutout in Oct.

New players on Ott team from recent trades, and postive buzz about it from paper here.............................................http://www.faceoff.com/nhl/teams/senators/news/story.html?f=/news/20020317/362642.html

FL is 2-6-2 last 10 games, and 2-0-2 last four--all at home. FL is 0-5 last five on road, all one-goal losses.

Ott is 5-4-1 last 10. Should be no problem getting into playoffs, but would like a higher seed for home ice advantage.

Ott is 4-5 on 0 days rest, and 2-4 0 days after a win
FL is 11-17-2 on 1 day rest, 2-6-1 after a win. FL hasn't put two wins together in a row since Dec 29.

FL next game is to home against MTL wed
Ott next is to Buff tues.

FL is 8-16 ATS vs winning teams this season
FL is 4-11 ATS off upset loss as a favorite

1 play for 5pm EST today

1 play for 5pm EST today

YTD 88-59(1-1 last night)

Ott. has won both meetings this year against Florida. As long as the Sens come mentally prepared to play they should walk away with the win. Sens will role 4 lines especially playing their second game in less than 24 hours. Panthers are an underachieving team with the Bure brothers and Ozolinsh not playing to their potential. Luongo is one of the few bright spots this team has had all year. Too much going on with this team both on and off the ice, distractions usually amount to poor team chemistry. Panthers have called up 2 players from the Utah Grizzlies of the AHL for todays game, team is very banged up. LW Marcus Nilson is suspended for the Panthers for 2 games. On the Sens side, they are trying to gear up for the playoffs. Ylonen did not look too bad in his debut last night after not arriving in Ott. until 2 hours before gametime. Nobody returning from the injury list today for the Sens. Benoit Brunet should make his Sens debut tonight and look for Bill Muckalt to be the odd man out as he has not scored in 57 games this year for the Sens. Look for Luongo to start for the Panthers in nets. Lalime will start for the Sens.

Playing:

Ott. -.5(-180)

GL today!

good luck Horns, Brunet is pretty solid on D and strong on the puck, not much O, but not a complete scrub by any means-- hope he helps the Sens--good luck!
