Nothing jumps out today...getting ready for tonite....then booking to Vegas on wed...need a break from school...we had to tell 23 teachers the other day they lost their jobs in June....some great vets...and we have to keep the terrible teachers because of their contract.....the educational field is unreal..on Tues nite I was the guest speaker at a local college speaking to 150 jr and senior future teachers...6 of them are coming to my school to student teach in 2 weeks...its so hard explaining to them that when they graduate there are no jobs....you want to give them hope but have to be realistic....I'm glad I'm almost at home plate in my career....but I have 2 daughters teaching....the Philly one just kept her job because she made it by a year...in Philly all ele teachers working 3 yrs or less were given a pink slip last june....they did rehire about 150 of them back but at all different schools...bad times...anyway looking forward to the selection tonite..

Took a shot on Ohio St. Don't like bucking IZZO but feel OSU gets it done today. Will just watch the others.

I know what you mean about schools. My wife is assoc. superintendent of the fastest growing district in IOWA. That has saved many good teachers. We build a new elementary every 2 years. Fortunately, finances aren't the crisis that many of the districts in the state (and country) have.

Iona:00hour :shrug:
My MAAC is still alive.....happy but also wondering... I can see some bubble teams upset at Iona....RPI's and all the other criteria.....somehow Iona snuck in....but they ended up No 1 in the nation on offense,No 2 in FG%....they lost to Purdue by 1,beat Maryland by 33, beat Nevada ,beat 2 teams going to the dance...Vermont and LIU,beat St Joes and Richmond...lost to Marshall....I know Drexal is upset...and a few others......Iona problem is they can't play defense...and BYU could beat them..not sure if Iona can stop BYU...BYU has beaten Nevada,Oregon,Zaga..lost to Baylor by 3...interesting to see what the line is...
BYU has 6'8 Hartstock,6'9 Davies,Abou 6'6....Hartock and Davies have 52 and 43 blocked shots...Iona will not be dancing very long...they do not have the interior post defense.

smax...its hard today with all the cuts...NY is in bad shape..our Gov has put a 2% cap on school tax..and has cut almost 12% from state aid...my district has to cut 2.7 million....a lot of that is the 23 teachers,programs and athletics.
Jw...my daughter teaches at Bache-Martin next to the Rocky statue...tough neighborhood.

I enjoy passing this info on to my wife. She was a teacher for 12 years before 12 as a principal. She worked with Stephan Covey implementing programs back here in Iowa. She has traveled around the country and comes home to tell of how brutal it is elsewhere. I'm just grateful. She is 10 years younger than me and that insurance has been a huge plus in our lives.

I know the lines came out..haven't peeked yet..doing some capping and predicting...these are tough to make lines up...FSU,BYU and K-State are the only games I really capped so far...will check them tomr and see how bad was I....
