Cincinnati -7.5 over Smoo ****
You have to throw out the past 4 or 5 years because Smoo has dominated the Cats....but times are different.. Smoo has lost 2 players for the season and top scorer Shake M might be out again today...they are down to 7 scholarship players have have no depth...the team manager was used yest. in practice...they have lost 3 of 4 and 6 of last 9 games...and way back the cats gave them their worst whipping in 5 or 6 years 76-56...in that game Smoo had 18 turnovers which resulted in Cats 26 pts..also Milton and Foster has a combined 30 of the 56 pts and Foster is out with Milton listed Probable ..Cinncy has won 15 in a row...they can score and play defense..they play so many types of defenses..man,trap,switch.trap...contest box out rebound...Smoo has to play zone because they have no depth...think Bearcats win this by double digits...Moody is a tough place to play but if your team manager is your 8th man you are in deep trouble..

added Smoo under 59.5 **

Penn St -2 over Illi **
Lions on the rd scare me but when you have a lion with the name Carr just jump on his tail and follow him....that kid can play.

Wagner -6 over FDU **
Seahawks are 9-1 and the best team in the NEC.. FDU was pre-season picked for 2nd but has faltered...Saunders didn't play lyr but he is back scoring and they have a lefty gd Francis who can score...

think 11-8 +2*'s

I don't understand why you would make this remark.

This guy posts his great write-ups every day, frankly he makes this forum what it is. He understands the game, watches the games, and passes on some tremendous knowledge. He takes real time to do this as well. I'm the beneficiary and it doesn't cost me a dime.

Two questions for you....

Why are you being such a twat?

What have you ever done for this site?

Yes that comment was not necessary but correcting the inaccurate record I think is fine and I believe Box has even asked for that I also had 10-11 -8*'s

Who cares what someone's record is? I can't believe that people waste their time verifying those hab

Seriously? Everyone should care what someone?s record is. It?s not that hard to keep an accurate record.

Why would they? Maybe if they are unemployed and have an incredible amount of time on their hands and believed that they will make a living tailing picks on public forums. Hah

It seems that people come on here to either advertise their paid service (which is a scam as we all know) or to have people praise them for having a good week. No one on this forum is very good otherwise they wouldn't waste their time posting their picks I here. But for most this is a hobby with a predetermined bankroll and they couldn't care less what someone thinks of their record. :)

Hey guys...please don't worry about any corrections that are made... I really appreciate them...I play so many games I do mess up keeping track...I really try to be correct but if there is a mistake I would like to know...what I post sometimes aren't all my plays...like late last night played Zaga and a 4 team money line parlay with the west coast teams...won zaga but lost the moneyline..but I never include those games in my post records...I will try to do better keeping the correct record.. there is absolutely no hard feelings in someone correcting me...I make mistakes all the the time.. I'm not sure if anyone caught yesterdays mistake.. I had Fordham playing at home vs Dukies...the game was in Pittsburgh..so you would think that would give me more an advantage...it didn't ...Think Rams won their 1st road game of the year on the road 0-7...that's about the 3rd time this year I made that mistake...but someone here corrected me on that...if anyone remembers a few weeks ago the Austin newspaper had UAB playing at Texas....I was going to the game until Doglover here in MJ's tells me the game is in Birmingham...if I don't read that I'm showing up to an empty Erwin Center...and then some here in MJ's who lives in Birmingham asked me he might go....wow.. now that's a mistake...I do appreciate some people here trying to defend me... no one is attacking me...just correcting with respect...
I love coaching basketball...I was pretty good at it in my career...I enjoy college hoops...I loved going to MAAC games...my father is a graduate of one... I have played games in their gyms..know many, many coaches, thru summer camps and having a few players get scholarships at some of these schools... This year will be the 1st year in over 30-35 years I won't see a MAAC game...so when you retire and become a snowbird like me you replace it with the Sun Conf and Texas St and the Big 12 with Texas...season is almost over.. only a few weeks left....but going to the Baylor-Texas game tomr night...have a ticket Doglover...
Anyway sorry for the rambling on...

Cinncy up 67-39 with 5 minutes left... I loved Smoo under 59 pts can't believe I didn't pound that play...unless Bearcats start subbing.. take care...

Hey not trying to be a smart ass or sarcastic...but forgot Honkerhunter corrected me a few nights ago... in capping South D. State game I mentioned they lost the game.. I knew they won the game but didn't cover by 4 or 5 points...but the biggest mistake was I said Custers Last Stand was in South Dakota.. now that is a mistake.. Honkerhunter corrected me and informed me it was in Montana...ouch..that hurt because I taught American History besides my PE,Heath,Drivers Ed etc.

Ha. That?s awesome Box!! Lots of respect for you. Figured you would get a kick out of that one! Love following your plays and reading your reasons why you like what you do. Makes us all a bit better in the long run. I?m a coin flipper when it comes to a lot of this College Hoops stuff so your insight normally make a lot of sense to me. Thx again.

Thanks Box for your work and write ups.
I disagree with PappaSack. Alot of us keep records on MJ's-its an accountability issue. We all try to get our records right. Sometimes you might not get it right, forgot about a play, did not add the units right, whatever, etc-I know I have done it-we all have, Also if new people are coming on to the site and want to know who's hot, they can look at the records and that might help them to then decide who to follow and what plays to make. gl

The concept of "being hot" is superstition and from a statistical perspective it is nonsense. The only time that this may have some practical use would be if you know that someone has been continuously losing and is illlogicaly trying to chase their money, and you would likely want to stay away from it.

I understand that someone wants to keep their record for personal use (and they should,, it is part of money management) but this has zero to do with anyone else.

Box is practically the only person on this forum that provides reasoning behind his picks which makes them useful. Everyone else that just posts picks without explanation is funny and anyone that wagers real money simply based on the fact that one particular person has been lucky for a few days deserves to lose.

Gambling is a hobby (or a desease heh) and should be fun. Once people think that they have "figured it out", are "capping" by reading forums, or start wagering outside their budget Is when it's time to pull a handbrake. I get what you are saying but it would be great if everyone wrote analysis behind their picks and we engaged in discussions instead of just posting them without explanation.

Just my two cents.

Box, you're a solid guy. Regardless if your picks are correct or not, you are essentially sharing and justifying your opinion with each pick and this is valuable and appreciated.

Papa-The key words you said were "your opinion" So if a poster has a record of 2-95 and they write an analysis--again their opinion--are you going to bet it because there is an analysis even thou the record is terrible? I can see a game one way and you can see it another does not make either one of us right.
So I am curious why you are on this site? To find plays to bet- probably since I don't see you posting any. Let's just leave it we can agree to disagree on postings, info and records. I hope you win money. gl

I don't believe in tailing blindly. The reason why I don't post picks or records is that I do not want to be the reason for someones loses, hard to explain, more of a personal moral thing than anything. I come here for insights such as the ones that box provides where I learn from someone that knows more than I.

To answer your question, yes I would still read someone's insight even if their record is 2-1000 because I am not tailing their picks but reading their reasoning. I make my own picks and when I lose I blame myself and not someone else.

But agreed, to each their own, gl

That makes sense--cool. I think you do it the smart way-gather all info you can then decide-gl. I also don't want to lose money for anyone including myself. I wish you the best:toast::0008

Box is a legend and I appreciate all the time and effort he puts forward with his write-ups. His passion for college hoops cannot be questioned.
I don't post a lot of write-ups with my plays only because I simply do not have time. I work a lot.
If I have some time on my hands, I might write a sentence or three about a game or a reason why I like it.
For me (just my opinion here) if somebody wins me 100 units, I don't care if they break down the game with huge analysis and write-ups, or if they were winning by throwing darts. Just keep the winners coming and help people beat the man.
But I do enjoy Box's commentary. I just wish I had the time. Even though I'm "up" lifetime doing this handicapping, doesn't mean I can quit my day job. Would be nice, but I'm a $300 per unit player. Hardly Billy Walters' numbers...:mj07:
