couldnt have asked for a better saturday. been a strange hoops season for sure, but 2-0 in the mac, 2-0 in the horizon, and dropped my halftime play on san jose in the wac. but obviously kent state was the main one and, although theyve been some bitches this season at times, they really came through and showed some sack against ohio.
for sunday:
ohio state buckeyes (+7)
ohio state buckeyes moneyline (+260)
my disdain for the buckeyes is well known on the forum. but i have to back 'em here. simply put -- this is their ncaa tournament all rolled into one afternoon. since theyre ineligible for postseason play, this becomes their championship game. an outright win isnt out of the question either. illinois is comin in nice and fat off two drubbings of northwestern and purdue in champaign. but osu has played illinois very tough lately. the game earlier this season was tight for about 30:00 before illinois pulled away and won. these two met in the exact same spot last season. #13 illinois played on the road in columbus to end the big 10 regular season and barely got out of town with a win. illini won 64-63 after ohio state had a chance to win it on the final possession as time expired. with no postseason, this game means everything to ohio state and even though illinois is playing for a perfect season, theyve got their #1 seed locked up in the big 10 tourney and for the ncaa tourney. theres no doubt in my mind that osu will be the aggressor here and be playing with more of a sense of urgency. illinois will likely come in thinking they can roll the ball out and take care of business. but bucks should be up for the challenge.
