toledo rockets over 152


not gonna bother with 2nd half totals anymore. 10 of 11 game totals tells me to just stick with the full game numbers for now. theres still a lot of value in these toledo totals because of the way they they came out of gate laying bricks this year. but they finally shot themselves out of their mini-slump against nevada and should be untracked for the season. rockets match up reasonably well with duke from the standpoint that the devils play their up and down style and dont have an overly physical interior. both teams capable of getting hot from the 3pt arc, and there are gonna be some great shooters on the floor tonight (reddick, ewing, triplett, villegas). duke will probably hit toledo with enough of their patented cameron runs to put this game close to the spread, but can really see this as a 91-72 kind of game. rockets defense on the road this year has been porous. even though they havent given up a ton of pts, opposition getting any look they want (opponents shooting 48% from the field). now that toledo's offense is back in gear, there should be a lot of scoring here.

i think DUKE'S line gets padded most of the time. my only concern is that they get shafted by the REFs..

They have a game Tuesday playing ILL CHI...then Duke goes to Madison Square Garden on Saturday to play OKLAHOMA.

noles hoops program hardly one with a ton of pride. theyve lost to far worse teams than florida international. so dont see them all the sudden turning it on and running away with it



north carolina 1st half (-17)
dont care how square this one is --- loyola is brutal. maybe they slow the pace so much that carolina doesnt get enough opportunities to get up by 17+ by the break, but ill take my chances. gonna be a long year for the ramblers. horizon is in a down year, and theyre the worst of the teams in it.

just the way i saw the first half:

pace of the game was fine. thats the way both teams like to play. up and down basketball. fouls started to pile up.

i like where im sitting. its right on the 1h total and 2h total puts it right at the game #. its halfway there. not gonna lose faith.

74 pts were scored even with toledo only knocking down 1 3pter (rare for them) and with the rockets going through an incredible lull where they couldnt buy a basket.

should still go over. the chance to buy back is there, and i see no reason to do it.

more often than not, you would have cashed that ticket. thats the worst ive seen toledo shoot in a loooong time. somethings just not right with them. obviously playing in cameron will do that to you, but this team has all kinds of offensive talent and theyve looked like shit 4 out of 5 games this year. as for why coach K does that......thats coach K for ya. great coach, but yeah - subs dont see time until the final 2:00 it seems. even though i didnt have a side, im really surprised toledo looked as bad as they did. right now, toledo and buffalo are the favorites in each mac division and theyve both looked like dog shit in non-conference.

G, I know Toledo's better than that, but cameron really fawkin rattles teams, my oh my, my issue was with stupid a$$ coach k, show some god damn class, toledo looked terrible, very flustered couldnt do anything, thought theyd sneak in under that #, pinnacle stayed at 23 with everyone else at -108 so I guess they thought so too and didnt mind taking Duke money, just hate losing terrible bs like that, oh well, just hafta go get em tomorrow, $ht happens as they say, just disappointing the way it transpired
