The Marlins are going for series win number two in-a-row.
In case you are wondering why the game is being played at night, up against ESPN Sunday Night Baseball, and not blacked-out. The Rangers have an exception to the black-out rule during the summer since it is too freakin' hot here to play a day game.

Javier Vazquez takes the hill for the Marlins. Javy has allowed a total of 2 earned runs in last three starts combined. In his last outing he went 7 innings giving up 3 hits, striking out 5 and allowing 1 unearned run. Of course he took the loss since the Marlins offense took the day off and didn't score any runs. Javy needs to bring his "A" game and go as deep as possible. The bullpen has to be depleted after the first two games in the series.
C.J. Wilson takes his turn in the rotation. Wilson had a solid outing his last time on the mound. He went 7 innings giving up 7 hits while allowing 2 runs. In his last four starts Wilson has been catching too much of the plate and has been hittable. Now that said, he has been very good at limiting the damage and stranding runners on base. The lefty throws a fastball (91 mph), slider, cutter, curve and change. His fastball and cutter are normally his most effective pitches.

Helms, 3B

Petersen, CF
True to their word they are giving Petersen a chance to start. Which is a good thing. That way Boni can go back to the bench and do the super utility thing and the Marlins can actually field a quality outfielder in center. Assuming Brian hits like we hope he will, this makes the Marlins an overall stronger team.

I played Tex rl and Angels under earlier this morning....
just fyi... home plate will be in the shadows for several innings during the angels game, that usually helps the pitcher.
also, its warm weather, which usually helps the ball travel in anaheim... yday very similar conditions and ended 7-1 angels (tho it was a later start)
