both teams in Dallas know defense is the key tonight. Lemieux lamented the defense lapses in last game, and nearly called out the offending players.

no clue goalies in WA game, but Caps should pull it out nonetheless. These are the type of games they win. whoops, just checked USA Today pregame lineup, and they list Weekes/Kolzig. so sticking with it.

2-1 today, up 0.87 units flatbetting a risk of 1 unit on each.

so that puts me up +6.70 units for the week (15-7), since I started listing daily pics monday 24th.

slow and plodding increase of the bankroll. but nice and steady!

can't argue with that. now if I could just stay away from those tempting big parlays......

This would be every wise money manager's/sports wagerer's dream... Imagine if you could make 6.7 units per week? About 31 full weeks in a hockey season... that's a 207.7 unit increase for one season! Let's say you're the "medium-risk" type and wager 1.5% of your bankroll on each wager... you end up with 3.1 times your starting bankroll at the end of the season, considering you stay at the same wager amount! :yup

Now that's a great season!

There is one thing over the last few years I've tried to discipline myself about and it is "trigger-happiness". Wanting to put that wager just for the pleasure of putting that wager. Lately, I've learned to keep that discipline.

One of the things that came out of this is the selectiveness of my picks. I play alot with momentum, less with numbers. More fundamental, less technical. So I will keep abreast of what's happening in the NHL until I get the confidence that I see "momentum swing" again. The last few weeks before the playoffs are the best... so much more energy, so much more desire and you get to see the real identity of teams. Usually these teams are carried by that energy therefore creating that momentum I look for. I'll probably stay away until Wednesday but you never know!

Right now, I'm looking closely at Montreal, Chicago, NY Rangers and San Jose. 4 teams that are in desperation mode. I love those Predators and really hope they'll make the playoffs... but hope doesn't win you money... shrewedness does!
