Gl Vol. . . my only concern is rebounding as Rhode Island may have a nice advantage but Kent State should be up for this one and ready to battle.

Akron +11.5 (even) 2nd half average play

Akron had zero points the first eight minutes of this game and finished played an even game against the Tar Heels from there to finish the first half. Think they can hang around and at the very worst a potential backdoor cover.

gl nickel. strange 1h for sure.

only thing that im uneasy about is the way tarver is playing. comes in as one of the higher scoring guards in the nation. held to just 2 pts.

glass half-full says zips are only down 6 and tarver is 1-8 from the field

glass half-empty says if zips dont get better production from him, theyre not gonna be able to hang in the game much longer.

hoping its the former. gl!

You too gman. . . Akron is a pretty decent team. Thought we'd see a lot more points in the 2nd half, but I wasn't about to complain!

Makes up for the Kent St. loss that I'm about to suffer. . . hopefully the other two will come in.

Adding Portland +27. . .

I don't like to make it a habit of going against steam plays, but Duke has yet to cover this year as a favorite. This is simply not the same Duke team that destroys opponents as in years past. Doubt the Devils can win this one by over 30 and there's always that hope of a backdoor cover anyways. Portland is not a horrible team and should be able to compete for a while. I think Duke wins this one by around 20.

Duke

Nickel,
Saw your Portland pick and since I am somewhat of a Duke expert just thought I would way in. I like your play, for a few reasons. In my opinion, Duke is the best team in the country and will win it all this year. However, this is a different Duke team from years past, as we have much more of an inside presence than before and will be more of a half-court oriented team. For those reasons, this Duke team will have less 30-point blowout wins than in years past. Portland is a decent team and will hang with the Devils for at least 15 minutes or the first half. Also, Duke will be rusty since they have had a week off for exams. You are going with Portland for pretty much all the same reasons I mentioned, but just thought I would add my opinion since you were asking about them in a previous thread. I hate to bet against my team, but Duke is not a great ATS team. Good luck!
