Boy I sure thought that 7 point teaser looked like the NUTS!! Glad I learned money managment years ago or I would have really gotten whacked today. Colts -2.5 with the over 40 and the Bears +4.5 :scared Shit, it still looks good to me!

what kind of hold 'em do you play? No limit? Limit? I play a bit myself, but I'm no pro or anything.

Mostly lower stakes no-limit. I run a 1-2 blinds no limit game here locally, max 300 buy in. On-line I play mostly like 10-25 cent blinds or 25-50 cent blinds as I rarely keep more than about 300 in an internet account. I prefer limit poker, but everyone hates it now. A really good 15-30 game is right up my alley.

Cool. I play mostly 3/6 limit myself. I've really gotten fed up with it though. The popularity of HE has brought in a lot of crappy players, unfortunately that also means a ton of bad beats. Kooks chasing cards to the river and catching really gets old when you actually try to use some sort of strategy.

I agree. Poker games have lost their respect and principal IMO. I know it sounds retarded to complain about bad players but if people dont fold every once in awhile, it becomes similar to Bingo. You have AK, raise it up and 8 people call. Well youre dead in the water. But then you catch a good flop of K-2-8 all different suits, bet it, everwone calls, turn card is like a 3, bet it again, everyone calls, river is a 4 and you think its a good card until you see some guy called like 9 bets with K4 suited and just made 2 pair. Bastards!

Nah, it's not retarded at all. Sure bad players make you money, but they also take money that should be yours when they catch cards. And some, I swear, are masters at it. I actually lost with aces and kings a few nights ago at the casino to a guy who had Q, 3s. He actually RAISED pre-flop, and then either led out or raised every round after that. Of course he ended up hitting a flush. When I asked why he even would PLAY a crap hand like that, his response was, of course... "It was suited." :mj07:

I had a -9.5 bet on them and a teaser bet as well. I'm still trying to figure out how they didn't win that game in regulation.

Now THAT is some funny chit !!! :mj07:

I'm trying to figure out how they kept it within 2 TD's !!! :mj07: :mj14:

Not sure what's so funny about it. They trailed by 3 with about a minute to play, and they were deep in Pitt territory. I'm not saying they should have covered the original spread, but a TD would have covered the teaser bet for me.

That's the problem with limit holdem. If you were playing no limit, you could have made a decent bet with the AK, and narrowed the field. When you have that many callers in a small limit game, the AK will almost always get beat. Try the no limit single table tourney's where you have 10 players starting with $800 in chips. You can play for as little as you like 5-10-20-and upwards....I think you will enjoy it much more, as I have. I refuse to play in a limit game unless the stakes are larger so you don't get the dipshits chasing all the way to the river.

I know that was directed to Agent, but I appreciate the info. I may try that as well. I've really had it with $3/$6 games...

No disrespect at all, and I appreciate your opinion but you are way off base. They still chase just as much in no limit, except when you win you win less and when you lose you lose more. they still chase in a larger limit also. The key is to have 1 or 2 maybe 3 fish in a game, not 8, IMO. Play lots of medium buy in tourneys and enjoy them! :mj14:

EXACTLY. I've always found this to be true as well. There is such a thing as TOO MANY bad players at a table. Then you're screwed because rather than hoping 1 or 2 guys don't catch cards, you're hoping the whole frigging table doesn't. A lot of people don't get that concept.

When there are that many chasers, you cant narrow anything down and there isnt a "safe" card in the deck.
