NCAA TRIPLE PLAY (12:10 eastern): The bottom line here is that we have an underdog Xavier squad that has proved to be one of the hottest, if not THE hottest side in America. Xavier made a remarkable run to the NCAA after a dismal 10-9 start which included a mid-December 82-70 loss at Mississippi State which just happens to be today?s opponent. In that loss, the Muskateers committed 20 turnovers. However, they are a completely different team this time around. The X-men really showed me something Friday when they pulled themselves out of a 14-point early second-half hole against Rick Patino and the Lousville Cardinals. The outstanding backcourt tandem of Lionel Chalmers and Romain Sato combined for 49 POINTS in the stunning come from behind victory. If you think about it, Xavier is a lot like their Atlantic-10 tournament partner St. Josephs, as they are excelling with a VETERAN backcourt. Don?t forget that is was Xavier who handed the Hawks their only loss of the entire season so far in what was a rout. So far in the month of March, Xavier has COVERED all SEVEN outings! The X-men are also 13-4 ATS FOR THE SEASON if they covered the spread in their prior contest. In that cover against Louisville on Friday, they shot 50-percent from the floor and were an outstanding 25-of-28 from the free throw line. This is one dangerous underdog that has the talent to possibly win the whole thing outright in what is a REVENGE battle with Miss State.
