Message: Italian Serie A: Parma/Cheivo DRAW +200 CANBET *DOUBLE*

Norwegian: Start/Molde DRAW +225 *DOUBLE* CANBET

Norwegian: Lyn/Lillestrom DRAW +230 *DOUBLE* CANBET

- I love my draw bets today...LYN/Lillestrom is a typical dra game...lyin is strong this year but winning away is only if they get lucky. They will play this game for 1 point

- Cheivio is struggling and should play harder because they are getting close to relegation, parma has been ok lately and this smells like a draw. The best out of the 3 draws.

-Start is a newly promoted team and they were Kings of their division last year, but win at Molde is unlikely even though Molde is a below average team--remember that molde played in the same league (1st league) last year!

Soccer: 2-team Parlay: Lecce/Juventus OVER 2.5 (-139) [italian] AND Barcelona -333 [spanish] *DOUBLE* CANBET +124

Soccer: 2-team Parlay: Nurnberg/Wolfsburg OVER 2.5 (-175) [german] AND Inter Milan/Cagliari OVER 2.5 (-139) [italian] *DOUBLE* CANBET +170

Belgium: Cercle Brugge +120 *DOUBLE*

Ken A Detroit Pistons

The Pistons are 9-0 SU and 7-2 ATS in their last nine games. Also, they are 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS in their last five at home. The Cavaliers are 3-7 SU and 4-6 ATS in their last 10 games. Also, they are 2-6 SU and ATS in their last eight on the road. Expect a top caliber performance on both sides of the ball from Detroit. And expect Cleveland's defense to breakdown as the game progresses.

Marc Lawrence Detroit Pistons

Cavaliers are folding faster than a cheap lawn chair. Today they head into Auburn Hills with the Pistons looking to avenge a 15-point setback from their last meeting in this series. With Cleveland just 2-13 ATS in their last 15 road games this season and 3-9 ATS at Detroit when the Pistons have revenge, look for the men from Motown to mow down the Cavs today.

Big Al McMordie Oakland Athletics

At 4:05pm our selection is on Oakland over the LA Angels. John Lackey gets the call for his third start of the year and the A's are going with former Astro Kirk Saarloos. Lackey is 1 - 0 so far and the Angels are 2 - 0 in the 2 games he has started. A closer look shows that both of his starts have come against the Texas Rangers and starter Chris Young. Young sports some of the ugliest stats of any starter in the AL. His ERA is over 8.5 runs per game and his WHIP is over 2.5 so Lackey's record this year is suspect to say the least. Both bullpens have been strong so far, with Oakland perhaps the best in the American League and the Angels not far behind, although I can't help but feel that the A's pen is much deeper than that of the Angels. Both teams have been horendous at the plate with the Angels paltry team average of .251 looking Ruthian compared to Oakland's dismal .223. Lackey's mediocre arm may be just the thing the A's are looking for to awaken their slumbering lumber. Take Oakland. As always, good luck...Al McMordie.

Ben Burns New York Knicks over

All three of this season's previous meetings between the Hawks/Knicks have finished above the number. With both teams off a game yesterday, I don't expect to see much defense today either. The Hawks have seen the Over go 3-1 the last four times they played their second game in two nights. The Knicks have seen the Under go 5-1 the last six times they played their second game in two nights and 13-6 in that situation for the season. After last night's result the Over is now 15-4 the L19 Hawks' games. Last night's game vs. Charlotte snuck below the number but the Knicks have still seen the Over go a solid 17-8 this season when matched up vs. teams that allow 99 or more points per game. Look for the teams to combine for more than 200 points as the Over improves to 9-2-1 the last 12 meetings in this series.
Play on the OVER

Robert Ross Minnesota Timberwolves

Denver loss last night clinched the #3 seed for Seattle. Minnesota still has a chance to make the playoffs if it can win out while Memphis drops its last two. Play Minnesota!

Tom Freese Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox are 10-4 in Tim Wakefields 14 career starts vs. Tampa Bay and the knuckleballer has a 3.28 ERA in those starts. Boston is also 9-3 in the last 12 April starts made by Wakefield. Devil Rays starter Scott Kazmir has more walks than strikeouts in his first 2 starts this year. That doesn't bode well against the heavy hitting Red Sox.

PLAY ON BOSTON - (Wakefield vs. Kazmir)

Larry Ness' 10* AL Game of the Week
Cost: ($35) Ungraded
Handicapper: Larry Ness
League: MLB
Event: Seattle Mariners vs Chicago White Sox on 04/17/2005 at 12:05
Condition: Chicago White Sox
Grade: Ungraded
Explanation: The White Sox have opened each of their first four series this year by taking the first two games, only to lose a chance at a sweep by failing in that third game! Is it deja vu all over again? Not likely! The Mariners were horrible away from home last year at 25-55 and I cautioned in Friday's write-up that the team's three-game sweep in KC was NOT a sign that things were better! True to form, the Mariners have dropped the first two of this series (I've had the White Sox in the first two) and will fail again here. Gil Meche gets the start and he's off to an awful start in 2005! Two home starts have produced an ERA of 7.88 and now he's on the road vs the hot White Sox (8-3 start is the team's best since 1982!). Meche's road ERA the last two seasons has been 5.71 and 5.78 (talk about being CONSISTENT!). Garcia, a disappointment the last two years at 25-25 with his teams at 29-35) has been sharp in two outings so far, with an ERA of 1.93. He'd love to beat his ex-teammates and why shouldn't he? The White Sox swept Seattle last year in all six games played in Chicago and will open this year at 3-0 after another win on Sunday! AL Game of the Week 10* White Sox.

SHARK'S WINNERS

MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL
Sunday, April 17th

MINNESOTA at CLEVELAND
MIN J MAYS -R vs CLE CC SABATHIA -L
Today's pitching matchup features Joe Mays of the Twins versus C.C. Sabathia of the Indians. Mays (0-0, 5.14 ERA) missed all of 2004 recovering from Tommy John surgery on his right elbow. He gave up one run on three hits in two innings of relief versus the White Sox on April 8th, and in his first start since August 29th, 2003, Mays gave up three runs and four hits with four walks and three strikeouts in 5.0 innings against the Tigers an took a no-decision in a 5-1 home win last Tuesday. Sabathia (0-0, 0.00) makes his first start of the season after about a month of rehab. He was 11-10 with a 4.12 ERA in 30 starts last year and is considered the ace of the staff. His 11 victories in 2004 are the fewest he's had in four big-league seasons, but he's still the youngest pitcher in the Cleveland rotation. The 6' 7" 290-pounder is a power pitcher who throws a fastball, curveball, slider and changeup, between 92-99 MPH and he comes in 3-2 with a 4.06 ERA in 8 starts versus the Twins. Go Cleveland.
SELECTION: CLEVELAND
