barely keeping my head above the magic 55% mark. considering the short card, i like too many games today, but here goes...
ohio state (-2) 2 units. buckeyes did it to 'em last year, and i think they'll do it again this year.
st john's (+2) 2 units. 'cuse has just been abused on the road the last month. granted, their last 3 roadies were against the #'s 1, 7, & 10 teams in the country. still, this is a team in disarray. the bigs aren't playing hard. they've lost 5 of 6, with the lone win by 2 points at home over rutgers. no way should they be favored on the road. the johnnies are still playing hard and that will be the difference today.
rutgers (-1) 2 units. wasn't gonna play this one, but the strange line movement piqued my interest. seems everybody is on marquette, but the line has moved 3 points towards ru. somebody smarter than me must know something. anybody heard anything that would have moved the line this much? did novak get stuck in the snow somewhere and he's gonna miss the game? maybe he hurt his back shoveling?
st bonnie (+3.5) 2 units. holy cow. am i really strongly recommending the bonnies today? i haven't played a bonnies game in several years. but this one jumped out at me. no, nothing about st bonaventure impresses me. they are flat-out awful. but one look at this line, and i knew everybody would be jumping all over richmond. sure enough, 95% right now. richmond's only conference road win was at duquesne. since then, they have lost their 3 road games by 12, 18, and 25. richmond may manage to squeak out a win, but it will be by less than 3.5 points. go bonnies!! :scared
georgetown (-5) 3 units. same logic as i used in the wv/pitt game the other day. this line is begging you to take wv. they hit a 3 at the buzzer to get a push at pitt. not gonna happen today. this is wv's second straight road game against a tough, physical opponent. georgetown's playing some good ball right now. they'll wear down the mountaineers. don't forget... pittsnoggle just became a dad. he looked terrible against pitt, and i expect more of the same today.
miami (-1) 2 units. miami is playing pretty good right now. they will be confident, having already beaten this team on the road. i don't think the 'heels will be able to use revenge as a strong motivator, since they are coming off the close loss to duke. these kids will still have their heads down, IMO.
