5-0-1 yesterday, with la/sf ppd. nothing to get too excited about yet, but system has performed consistently this week. for sunday:

atl/fla over 8-

stl/hou under 9

la/sf under 7

cws/det under 9

kc/cle under 8-

tex/sea over 8-

one of the components of my totals system is umpires, so i try to keep track of their tendencies. occasionally they compel me to take a side. today, i already liked cincy as a live home dog based upon dempster's recent form, then looked a home plate ump wegner's history. he is one of the major's most consistent "homer" umps, with the home teams going 79-44 (64%) over the last five years, and never under 60% in any given year. in addition, ryan dempster is 3-0 in games called by wegner, with an era under one.
so, one side today:

cincy +120

adding:

bal/bos over 8-

hesitant at first b/c of listed pitchers and wind blowing in a bit from the green monster, but couldn't get over the fact that boston scoring runs in bunches, w/no pen, and now over 10 of 11 overall, with lone under game called by john hirschbeck, biggest under ump in the majors. bal over three of four away to boot.
