Ya might wanna rethink the 'Cuse play. This is not the same team that was playing just 8 or 9 games ago. They really miss Edelin!!!
Syracuse's last five games
Syracuse 63, Rutgers 61

Notre Dame 84, Syracuse 72
Syracuse 57, Georgetown 54
Syracuse 64, Villanova 59
Note that they have struggled to win against the bottom feeders of the Big East! Now they have to face the #3 ranked team!
To quote Boeheim:
"They're No. 3 in the country and could be No. 1 in the country very easily," Boeheim said.
He said the two teams ranked ahead of Pitt (Stanford and St. Joseph's) are there only because they're undefeated.
"They're undefeated, but they're not better than Pittsburgh. I think Pittsburgh is the best team in the country overall. But it'll all work out. That's why we have a tournament."
When Pittsburgh played Syracuse at the Carrier Dome on Jan. 24, the Panthers embarrassed the Orangemen 66-45. The Panthers held the Orangemen to 27.3 percent shooting and their lowest point total in 35 years.
"They're absolutely a tremendous defensive team," Boeheim said. "They have very good defensive players. They have three seniors who are great defenders."

rompil, thanks for your input. Fully aware of cuse and their lack of a point quard (edelin).
Here is my reasoning:
1. Cuse got blasted last time at home.
2. Need some wins, especially a quality win on the road for NCAA tournament, as they are not a lock to get in yet.
3. Pitt is not a ball pressure team, therefore a lack of true point guard for cuse won't hurt as much.
4. Cuse plays zone which goes against Pitt's weakness, outside shooting. Page has really struggled lately and Krausser isn't the best shooter either.
5. Vegas revenge for Pitt covering Tuesday.
Do what you have to, but I am staying with the Cuse and again I appreciate the feedback. This is why madjacksports is the best.

I for one am shocked even tho I'm a 'cuse fan.
Watched both games. Pitt is much more tentative in this game.
Almost like the coach told them not to try thr 3pt shot at all.
Rooting for the cuse to win straight up now. Even tho I'm gonna lose mucho $$$$.

rompil, appreciate the conversation. Yea, I was hoping it didn't go into OT. I am a big Pitt fan, but certain situations they just don't excel in and that is outside shooting. Every team that plays them should just pack it in. This was my powerball game for the day. Pitt will have extreme trouble in the tournament if the refs call a tight game and they got away with plenty today.
I went against my wishes today and played a tease also with Kentucky/Duke. For once I get to root for Duke, who I hate.
For the record, I really believe Pitt might lose this week at Providence too.

This has always been a tough series! My daughter graduated from Pitt and I'm an SU alum. Tho I try not to let loyalties get in the way of making $$$$.
Once I saw that Pitt wasn't gonna cover I started rooting for SU to win. Still amazed they pulled it off. In the 1st game Pitt was lighting it up from 3pt land. Have to try to find all the stats from that game, bu tI remember Krauser & Page killing the 'cuse with 3s.
Anyway good pick! Hope ya had as much as I did on the game!
BTW Providence looks REAL good right now! Hope SU can win out tho that'll be difficult w/ UConn coming to town. Maybe this will give 'em some confidence. Just Imagine if Edelin were still here let alone 'Mello.

Nole, you da the man and funny tonight. Glad I teased Puke. Great for all of those that had FSU. I quess you need one like that every once in awhile. I got out of this week going 8-9 with minimal damage (-210) after a nice day today. It it would be nice to start the week off winning for a change. I had a career week. I'm up big, finally! Going to parlay this cash into even more next weekend at the State Tournament.
You came on after MJB left unfortunately. He is a great guy. You would have loved rappin' with him. He's the best.
