Yankees this afternoon at Camden Yards. After their extra inning victory over the Orioles Saturday, the Yanks have now won nine of their last 11 games.

Despite some injuries to key players, the Yankees are red hot at the plate as they have scored at least six runs in 10 of their last 11 games. And in that other game, they pushed four across the plate. They're batting .330 in their last seven games and .311 during daytime games.

And speaking of games under the sun, New York is an amazing 17-2 in such contests this year. They're also 17-12 on the road, while the O's are just one game above .500 at home this season. Oh, and the inconsistent Orioles also bat just .256 in daytime games.

New York is 4-1 versus Baltimore this year and 66-35 all-time at Camden Yards. Truly they have Baltimore's number. The Yanks will go with Aaron Small, who is 3-0 all-time versus Baltimore. With a couple of starts under his belt, he should be ready today.

Baltimore goes with Rodrigo Lopez (3-7, 6.8) as he has a bloated 7.74 ERA in eight home starts. New York, which has at least 10 hits in 11 straight games (longest club streak since 1937) will hit him hard and Johnny Damon and the Yankees will complete this sweep.

The Pirates evened the weekend series with a win
last night over San Diego, but today promises to
be a different story. The Pirates have been simply
terrible in day games this year (only 3-14, -$1200)
while the Padres check in with a stellar 15-5 (+$930)
mark in that situation. That alone makes the visitor
irresistible, but they've also got the better pitcher on
the mound. Chris Young checks in with a 3.80 ERA
in his 11 starts, as opposed to Victor Santos's 5.02
in his 11 starts. The Padres are obviously the better
team, with a 29-26 record in the very competitive NL
West. The short price on the visitor looks like the best
bargain of the day, look for them to capture the rubber
game of this weekend set.
