a little system..
a little system..
I've been using since when I started playing college hoops about 3 years ago is...
1. Take any road team in a pick'em game.
2. Take any road team that is a 1-point dog.
3. Take any home team that is a 1-point dog.
This has been working out well for me this year...and again the last couple of nights. Sorry I don't have the time to track the whole season right now, but since Febuary 1st, here are the results I've gotten.
1. Road team in a pick'em game is: 7-3 (3-0 yesterday)
2. Road team that is a 1-point dog is: 7-4 (2-1 yesterday)
3. Home team that is a 1-point dog is: 10-3-1 (1-1 yesterday)
My outlook on this is that in a pick'em game, given the fact that home court is worth 3-5 points, the road team in a pick'em game is the better team...and I'll take a better team SU anytime....I suggest that you have a darn good reason to take a home team in a pick'em game.
A road 1-point dog kind of falls along the same line....although the road team and home team may be a little more evenly matched in the public eye,....vegas trying to entice you to take the home team that only has to win the game.
A home 1-point dog...I love these the most...usually a clearly superior team on the road...giving only one point..again, vegas knows that you know this is a team that should be able to pull off the win....don't fall for it....only a 1-point road favorite if you have a real good reason.
I only use this system when the line is a pick...or a solid 1-point either way....for some reason, I haven't had the same fortune with 1 1/2 or more either way. Also, I don't use this system if the line moves to a pick or 1-point either way...it has to be a game that opens and doesn't move for me to play it. Hope that helps somebody.....wright St. falls into the road team +1 category today, so I played em...hopefully they can cash the ticket.
