2-3 yesterday, which pretty much means I am on FIRE.
Tennessee (-8.5) 3 units. boy, it sure is tempting to take mercer, after they beat duke. but let's face it... you can't rely almost exclusively on 3-pointers and expect to consistently win in the ncaa tournament. you need SOME interior offense, and duke was exposed on friday. Tennessee is much more balanced, and they're playing good basketball right now. OH, and Tennessee even has a revenge motive, after mercer went into Knoxville and beat the vols in the opening round of the NIT last year. who woulda thunk they'd be playing again in the 2nd round of this year's ncaa's? I already forgot who pointed that out in another thread, but thank you! that's good info.
Stanford (+7) 2 units. I just feel like this is when the loss of embiid really starts hurting Kansas.
Wichita st (-4.5) 5 units. I've been waiting for this one since the brackets were announced. all the talk about how Wichita hasn't played anyone... they are going to be on a mission today to prove they are for real. after this game, the talk won't be about Wichita's schedule, it will be about "oh yeah, this team made the final 4 last year. they're pretty effing good." my biggest concern.. if uk somehow keeps it close, the shockers are not a good FT shooting team. at the very least, that leaves the back door open.
Creighton (-3.5) 2 units. tough matchup for the jays, but I feel like they're going to get it done today. Baylor has tall, long athletes that can bother creighton's perimeter shooters like McDermott and wragge. but I also think the jays can play solid basketball and make Baylor defend for most of the shot clock.
SF Austin (ML) 1 unit to win 3.9. you know, I really don't see any reason why the lumberjacks can't win this game. why not take a shot?
