DETROIT (Verlander) -125 over KANSAS CITY (J. Vargas)
The Tigers may be on the verge of a runaway in the
AL Central. They've racked up a 4-0 record against
the Royals in head to head play (+$430) and could
sweep the weekend series with a victory today. Ace
righty Justin Verlander has been flashing good form
as the season heats up (+$350, 2.48 ERA in his six
starts so far) and the Tigers currently hold a 7-1 mark
vs. lefthanders (+$500). Jason Vargas has been sharp
in his appearances, which has a lot to do with the line
being as low as it is, but KC hasn't fared well in their
day games (-$370). Against this Detroit juggernaut that
record isn't likely to improve today.
