well, last sunday was the brutal day I knew was coming at some point. I think I was 1-7 and I gave up most of my nfl profits for the year. hopefully that wasn't the start of a trend.

hopefully it's a good day for the dogs. gotta make some money for vegas this week.

st. louis (+7) 2 units.
st louis (ML) 2 units to win 5.2. yeah, I'm a glutton for punishment, as I keep playing the rams. but here's seattle's last 4 visits to st. louis:

2013 14-9 as a 13-point fav
2012 13-19 as a 2 1/2- point fav
2011 34-27 as a 12 1/2-point fav
2010 3-20 as a 2-point fav

I like the rams to keep this one close and maybe knock the defending champs down to 3-3. PARITY REIGNS SUPREME IN THE NFL!!

Cincinnati (ML) 2 units to win 3.1. speaking of being a glutton for punishment, I keep wagering against the colts. I see them as being a fairly mediocre team playing in a terrible division. so far this year, they are 3-0 in the division and 1-2 out of the division.

Miami (+3) 2 units
Miami (ML) 2 units to win 2.9. cutler doesn't get to face Atlanta's 30th-ranked pass defense this week. Miami's pass defense is 2nd in the league, allowing 222 yards/game. and they are tied for 1st in the league, giving up 6.1 yards/attempt. and da bears are 0-2 SU at home this year, after going 1-6-1 ATS at home last year. not much of a home field advantage at soldier field.

Jacksonville (+4) 1 unit.
Jacksonville (ML) 1 unit to win 1.8. dammit, I also keep stubbornly playing the jags. Cleveland is coming off that big comeback win at Tennessee and a huge win over Pittsburgh. I have to expect a letdown today against the jags.

Minnesota (+6) 3 units.
Minnesota (ML) 2 units to win 4.2. it's sad when kyle orton is an upgrade at qb, but that's the case in buffalo. the Vikings catch the bills between games against new england and the jets. and I still don't see the bills as any better than a mediocre team. normally I'd hesitate to play a rookie making his first road start, but I've never seen anything rattle teddy bridgewater. I think we'll see a lot of points in this game and the Vikings will have a shot to win it at the end.

Detroit (-1.5) 2 units. gotta throw in a little chalk. the saints are 0-3 on the road this year. that Detroit defense is good enough to make them 0-4.

Oakland (+3.5) 3 units.
Oakland (ML) 2 units to win 3. carson palmer should be good for about 4 INTs in his return to Oakland. I'm hoping that will be enough to keep the raiders in this game.

Denver (-6.5) 2 units. ok, just a little more chalk. way too much love for the niners today.

Smitty-Nice day at the office.
I don't know who has bigger balls you betting the Rams ML or the Rams coach fake punting the ball at the end of the game-LOL.
Thanks again!!!!::toast

thanks, bt! it was nice to get some money back from the previous week. and glad I could help someone else out. :toast:

that fake punt could only be called by a veteran coach who has just a touch of job security. or doesn't care if he gets fired. I said at the time that was the ballsiest* call I've ever seen in the nfl. i have very little doubt that they would have lost that game if he doesn't do that.

i'll make the same point jord made in his thread yesterday - if you like doggies, you gotta play 'em on the money line. as I said there, it took me 20 years to figure that out. this is the first year I'm playing most of my nfl dogs on the ML, and it's really helping my bankroll. just in time to blow it all in vegas!!

*side note to madjack... your spellchecker doesn't recognize "ballsiest". you should probably get that fixed. apparently it also doesn't like "madjack". :)
