Quinnipiac-1.5
Christmas in Connecticut! Just what Oregon State wanted for the holidays. Or, not. Starting a game 3,000 miles from home at 10 am, Pacific time against a team that is a total stranger to their first-season coaching staff is not what they would have asked Santa Claus for. This date was scheduled by the prior coaching staff and is the middle game of a three-game contract. Craig Robinson, the previous Oregon State coach who got fired after last season and who is also President Obama?s brother-in-law, wanted a free trip back to New England, where he used to coach Brown University in nearby Rhode Island. He has now stiffed the present regime with this ?WTF?? burden.
Can Quinnipiac play? Yes they can. In last year?s, game Quinnipiac traveled out to Corvallis and lost by only 8 points, 76-68. The Bobcats led deep into the second half. Currently, Quinnipiac has three of the MACC?s top 10 rebounders: Ousmane Drame (10.8), Justin Harris (7.6) and Zaid Hearst (6.2). Oh, you better box out, you better not cry? Oregon State better not foul I?m tellin? you why ? Quinnipiac hits 77% from the free-throw line. A 6?3?? guard, Gary Payton, Jr., is leading Oregon State in rebounding with 9.4 per game. That is ridiculous, and when Payton can?t be on the floor for his usual 35.5 minutes because of foul trouble in this true road game, the team?s performance level should fall through the floor
