every year, week 2 is THE week to make money on the nfl. the overreactions to week 1 are often comical. but for some reason, i'm just not feeling it this week. my gambler's intuition is telling me to be careful. and every time i fail to listen to it, i regret it. that said, here we go....
carolina (-3) 1 unit. my god, i'm really playing the panthers laying points? ugh. but 2 words... ryan mallet.
minnesota (-2.5) 2 units. i'm a big believer in teddy bridgewater. and i have no idea wtf happened last week in san fran. i'll give the vikes another shot.
new england (ML) 2 units to win 2. no, the pats didn't look all that great last week. but, once again, 2 words... tyrod taylor.
ne/buff under (44.5) 3 units. i'll go ahead and call the final score... 23-10. and the 1 buffalo td will be something stupid, like a fumble return or punt return. i can't play an under without at least one defensive or special teams td.
chicago (ML) 2 units to win 2.1. purely an anti-arizona play. i think they're going to start to look like the mediocre team they really are. sure, mediocre can still beat the bears. just not today.
tennessee (-1) 2 units. no, i'm not drinking the tennessee kool aid. purely an anti-manziel play.
san diego (ML) 3 units to win 4.8. cincinnati is another team i fully expect to look mediocre by the end of the year. it starts today.
washington is absolutely the right play. obviously they are horrible. but they are catching st louis off their huge win. and now the rams are a road fav. and their next 3 games are pitt, arizona, and gb. talk about a "trap" game. but how can you pull the trigger on the 'skins? they can be the right side and still find 12 ways to fuck it up and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. no play, but i kinda expect the 'skins to win this game.
atlanta (ML) 2 units to win 2.2. definite overreaction to the giants' close loss at dallas. the giants are not good, and ryan SHOULD have a field day.

jacksonville (ML) 1 unit to win 2.1. i really like the jags to get some revenge for last year. miami won 27-13, but they needed 2 TAINTs to do it. in fact, they needed a TON of jags' miscues to win that game. i won't list all the breaks the jags handed the 'phins, but you can read it here. http://espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=400554267
this is a similar situation... miami is off a road win and now we add a look-ahead situation, as the 'phins play buffalo next week. i fully expect miami to be flat today. and i'm hoping jacksonville is a little less terrible this year.

dallas (ML) 1 unit to win 2.3. ok, this is either a terrible line or a huge trap. i'm guessing it's a bad line. maybe an overreaction to dallas almost losing at home to the giants and the eagles' 2nd half comeback against a bad atlanta defense. but dallas has won and covered 3 straight at philly, and won 5 of their last 6 trips there.
