Killed college basketball on Saturday, only to watch it all get wiped out by some really boneheaded plays yesterday in the NFL. First losing week in quite awhile for me, but this week will be much better. I hope everyone has a merry Christmas and a prosperous new year. :toast:

Denver -16

I really doubt the Chiefs score in this one. If they do, it will be in be in the single digits. Denver wins by 20+.

New Orleans -4

I can't see the Carolina offense keeping up with New Orleans in the Superdome.

initially I like all the same

saints mostly.....brees and CO. a chance to get to 8-8 after starting 0-4....miss the playoffs by 1 game...tons of momentum into next year getting payton back....

but then I thought, why only a FG at home to a bad Carolina team??????

still, saints or nothing for me on the side....like the over

as far as Denver, I just don't know the scenarios left...I know if Houston wins at 1 oclock they guarantee homefiled throughout....but I think if newengland wins at 1, then Denver must win as well to lock up the #2 seed....

brady quiinn sucks.......but just like Cleveland last week (which I was wrong about), this could be the game that makes the year for vegas, as I anticipate 80% of action on the broncos....

Washington beat em in dallas, don't know why home would be different.....and it is a must win game for romo :sadwave: we know how that goes

Chicago we totally agree on :toast:

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, addict. :toast:

The Saints pick is the one I have the least confidence in, but I still like it. The only worry for me is that sieve they call a defense. We might get backdoored, but I still think it hits.

I think Houston loses in Indy and Denver will play hard for 3 quarters. Can KC score enough in the 4th to backdoor the spread? I really don't think so.

Obviously, our thoughts are the same on the other two. In addition to the Romo big-game choker history, you also have that WEAK Dallas D that you know is gonna get shredded.

Bears game is simple for me. The Lions have cost me enough money this year. It's time to pay some of that back!

Let's have a big last week of the season, bro! Have a great Christmas!

Addict,

NE game was moved to 4:25. So, the Denver game will be relevant whether or not Houston wins. Denver will either be playing for the #1 seed or the #2 seed.

Indy +7 (-105)

I was waiting for this line to come out.

Indy has nothing much to play for as they cannot change their seeding. I guess they can affect who gets home field adv in the AFC. And also who they would play if they can beat Baltimore.

Houston on the other hand should be stoked to win this game.

For Houston to lose this game to a wild card playoff team will make them look very very bad. It will be humiliating.

Indy Coach returns from cancer

Will he be willing to play the first string players the whole game for this win ?

This is a tough call.

At this time of year , I got to be able to determine who will win the game.

So far I am unable to do that.

gl with the play

Most people will be thinking that Indy has nothing to play for so they will not try very hard. That is why the line is so high. False logic IMO. Indy will play to win as they don't want to lose the momentum they have built. They have added momentum with the return of Pagano, who has inspired them all season. To tell you the truth, I do see Indy resting the starters in the 2nd half. They will be blowing Houston out at that point. Stick a fork in the Texans. Their season is done.

The Houston Texans would love to see the Colts rest their starters because the Colts were just 2 bad plays away from beating them in Houston.

I don't think the Texans want to go into Indy (where they have NEVER won) and face a team that is as fired up as the Colts are going to be with the return of Coach Chuck.

Yes there is a chance that a starter might get hurt but they could just as easily get hurt in practice or even just get hit by a car getting to the stadium.

A loss in this game wouldn't really hurt the Colts but a loss would knock the Texans down to the third seed, not to mention what it would do to their moral.

The Colts may actually need to win this game
that no one gives them a chance to win. I don't know wheather Chuck will rest anyone or not but I would hate to be the person that has to tell Andrew Luck (or any of this young team) that he wasn't going to get to play in this game.

But it would be more than a little weird to see a team that went 9-3 while he was away battling leukemia to relax and not care much about the result. Pagano leading the team on to the field will be an emotional moment, and Lucas Oil Stadium will be electric in paying tribute to him as he returns to the sideline.

Still, the offensive line struggled mightily two weeks ago against J.J. Watt. How bad would it be if Andrew Luck took a shot that got him hurt?

I?m not a proponent of the full-scale mail-in that former Colts head honcho Bill Polian so aggressively put in place in 2009, when the 14-0 Colts had home-field advantage locked up and sacrificed a chance at an undefeated season my easing up and losing to the Jets and at Buffalo.

If you have some guys who are legitimately questionable, I?d certainly lean toward resting them.

One things fans tend to forget is that a team can?t rest all it?s starters. There are limited substitutes available. Even in a full rest scenario, plenty of starters would play.

What does Pagano think?

Well, one of his best players and a guy he?s particularly close to, Reggie Wayne, told the Indianapolis Star the Colts should keep playing.

"We're too young to rest," he said. "We probably need to put everybody out there and have them continue to play. I don't think we can afford (to rest). I can't speak for everybody, but I'm built to play."

I think the line is so high because lets face it, Houston has won more consistently this year than the Colts.

Houston needs to make a statement game out of this going into the playoffs and take the #1 seed convincingly.

They are cetainly capable of doing that.

I think the + 7 will get buried.

You are quite right about Houston needing to make a statement. I disagree that they are capable of doing it. This team is on its last legs. They look about as fresh as a 6 AM streetwalker.

The +7 may very well get buried, and Vegas will get buried right along with it. I'll take my chances with a team full of passion, on a roll and getting a whole touchdown at home with their emotional heart returning to the sideline.

Maybe Houston finds their second wind in the playoffs, but I don't see it happening. I surely don't see it happening in front of those fans and that team full of that much emotion this Sunday. This is a team that has lived on emotion all year. You don't think that their play is going to be at its best with the return of the guy that has fueled that emotional play all year? Make sure you don't get buried.

I think I have only seen the Colts play once this year and it was a loss.

I am not going to wager on this game so no chance for me to lose it.

The Coach has been gone awhile. So you are telling me that the team was playing for him this whole time. ?

not sure I can go for that

I suppose some of it comes down to who indy would wanna play with a win over baltimore...

They would very likely go to the #1 seed...

I would think they feel much more comfortable going into houston, where they already almost won....and if they lose too houston this week, that means houston would have to beat indy 3 times....hard to beat anyone 3 times when its close in talent...

I honestly can see luck going into houston in the playoffs and winning and absolutley starting his legacy as one of the best ever this year....I'm not saying he is even in the conversation right now, but he can surely get there....

I honestly think they would prefer to go to houston, rather then deenver or new england....they know what happens in new england...

Then we will have denver vs indy in afc champ game....peyton vs his old squad....

Sorry for the mess of a post, but I'm just adding some thought....

Damn hate seeing a Super Dank on
the Skins because I got the Boys winning
this game ... I know all about Romo and
Cowboys chocking but just seems like
the past doesn't mean shit this year..
I've actually thinkn Romo plays his ass off
And out shines RG3 at his own house
Which Skins don't play all that good at
it... But hate being against ya but going
with my gut on this game ...
