For those of you whom have been there in the past, would you recommend taxis or renting a car?

I usually play where I stay, but it is nice to move around a bit, too. I would like to know what you veterans have to say on the subject?

yyz,

my wife & i went last year & stayed at the sunset from fri.-sun. we went to the strip every day that we were there & went to the strip on sat. night for dinner & a show. we spent about $200 on cab fare. it cost us about $25-$30 each way to go back & forth between the strip & sunset station. this year we will be staying on the strip(mgm grand), & will drive from az.

Sunset

Has a free shuttle to and from the airport and the Tropicana Hotel
(Strip & Tropicana) Take advantage of that if you like. Then you wouldn't have to taxi or rent a car.
Everything on the Strip is within walking distance and you get to places faster because of the vehicular traffic.

Otherwise a rent a car would be better than a cab, in my opinion.
Depending on of course if you drink like Mama or GlobalTrance ;)

Thanks folks.......except for 'slove', of course. Are you going to be there, stud? I would love to bitch slap the Lee Press-Ons off of your little kunt. Oh, I forgot........you never venture more than 20 miles from your front porch. Meeting people would be hazardous to your health.

now now yyz- sounds like you need some anger management- it's probably that temper that ruined your first marriage (along with a lack of gratification):D :D

anyway, sorry to report I won't be attending the SB party- we have a nice little gig here that's within a 20 mile radius of my front porch

have you notified Jack if your girlfriend and her mom are going to the party with you? please do so asap so Fletcher knows whether to double up on the food order.;)

"I would love to bitch slap the Lee Press-Ons off of your little kunt"- now that is a visionary speaking

Ahhhhh.......everyone should have their own forum stalker. I am glad I intrigue you so much, Chris.

Of course you won't be at the party, or anywhere else outside of the sanctuary that your computer provides........and I should get the life? You're a hoot!

PS

A 'gig'? Is that what your group calls it? You can say "Daisy Chain" without getting a red face, can't you?

No reason to get a rental, YYZ. Even if you're staying on the strip, you'll be making 3 trips tops to Sunset at 25/per. I know you don't drink, but even aside from that, driving a car there is a major pain in the ass. Mama always rents a car so she can haul people to and from the airport, which is a great help to a lot of people, but otherwise I would recommend against it.

nearly 6100 posts and I am the one that needs a life...I guess you can add internet addiction as another reason your wife went splitsville- but hey Summers in the St Pete motor park aint exactly the same cache as the Hamptons but I'm sure they have a Local to relax in

I'm not familair with the term Daisy Chain but I'm sure you and Bobbie will be in one after yet another losing Super Bowl wager

Thanks Kosar. I am staying at the Sunset Fri-Sun, and moving to the Strip on Monday. I guess I will get from the airport to Sunset via cab, and go from there.

Well, I would guess so, since I seem to be such an object of obsession for you. You love to chronicle my every move from all observations here. If I am such a loser, and you are obsessed with me, what does that make you? And, I pretty much stick to Madjack's as my internet 'jones', while I would be willing to guess that you haunt several sites of differing substance, being the same pathetic jag.

If you are not familiar with the term, how do you know what context to use it in?

(I think thou dost protest too much! ;) )

and you don't drink, either?

hmmm...I'm sure there's a reason why...let's see-

anger issues, plus
alcohol abuse, plus
gambling problem, plus
internet addiction

it's all adding up

Yeah, even if you're staying out there at Sunset, it's basically the same thing. Even if you feel like going to the strip all three days that you're out there, you'll still be better off just taking a taxi, both monetarily(even though the actual rate will be less than the taxis, you still have to consider valet parking-many casinos don't have the least bit convenient self-park- gas etc.) and especially for convenience.

Since the airport is at the very south end of the strip, the fare to Sunset won't be $25 like it is from mid-strip(MGM, Mirage and such), but will be about $15-17.

Yes, there is a reason. I never started! That's probably hard for you to grasp. You know, the fact that a person can make their own choices in life?

Now, pencil that in on the bio sheet you have on me by your bedside, so you can bring it up in a year or two...........

Kdogg,

The party is at Sunset Station.

As far as how far it is from the strip, well, it depends on what part of the strip. The strip is 3.5 miles long and that makes a huge difference in cab fare because of the traffic.

Airport to Sunset Station 7.5 miles / 11 minutes.

Caesars Palace (mid Strip) to Sunset Station 10.7 mi / 15 min.

The free Sunset Station Shuttle is still the way to go to or from the Strip & Airport.
