Mama always rents a car so she can haul people to and from the airport, which is a great help to a lot of people, but otherwise I would recommend against it.

take heed to Kosar's advice, especially if Mama's drinking!

So Cal
Use a cab - chances are the shuttle will be fine. You won't have to go through the hassle involved in renting. Taxis are plentiful there if you need them. You might not even leave the Sunset.

LOL- Obviously I was talking about him getting a rental, but I *have*heard that a few of those trips from the airport to Sunset with Mama have been adventures.

last year we had dinner reservations on the strip. we went out side the lobby of the sunset station & there wasn't any cabs, only another couple waiting 10 minutes for a cab. i went to the front desk to ask if they can get us a cab. the person at the front desk called the local cab service to pass by.we waited about 20-25 minutes before a cab arrived. but since the other couple was before us, they were entitled to that cab. but since we had dinner reservations & tickets for a show, we were strapped for time. so i gave the other couple $20 for us to take that cab.

during the ride to the strip, the cab driver told us that the reason that cabs don't hang out at the sunset, on a sat. nite, is because there isn't enough business.

We rent a car on every occasion in the recent past even if it wasn't SB time , Raymond and I venture out alot so it was worth it for us.............. geeez the one day I think I got suckered! the cab fare for me was $45 to the sunset  Ray left early in the morning for hoops and I met him later.......Those games in Vegas start early due to time change :D at any rate yyz are you thinking of bringing a wife or girlfriend??? because for "you" everything is at the sunset, but if you are bringing some one I don't think they will want to hold off untill Mon. to enjoy the strip ;) just something to think about ........

On the course!
My girlfriend will be coming, too. We were just there in April, and will actually be out there for 6 days in all. I am guessing we can stay at Sunset all weekend without a problem, as we will be staying on the Strip Mon-Wed.

I hate renting out there in general, as we seem to just grab a cab a lot of times anyway! (Getting the car is a hassle at times.) I just didn't know how far Henderson was from the airport.

Thanks!

is there anything around the hotel that is cool to visit??

I figure I would head to the strip one night, but my wife and I will probably get wasted and get lost. its better for us to stay close most of the time.
