While we're at it, here is something else to consider (for what it's worth);
The Patriots and Falcons have played 5 common opponents this year...Arizona, Seattle, SF, LA Rams and Denver. New England was 4-1 straight-up and 4-1 against the spread. Atlanta was 5-1 straight up and 6-0 against the spread. In those games the Patriots has edges of 7.4 ppg straight up and 1.7 ppg against the spread, while the Falcons had edges of 16.0 ppg straight up and 12.8 ppg against the spread.
So we can slice it up any way we want and come out with valid and solid reasons to take either team. It should be a really good game and could go either way. Just because it's the Super Bowl, we shouldn't over bet this game! Most people would say there is no real value in this point spread. The line has barely moved since it came out and although I'm not a book maker that tells me they are getting action both ways.
