Giants pass rush will have to come from their defensive ends. N.E. now healthy at all 4 interior linemen and they simply do not allow penetration to Brady up the gut.
Tight-end Watson picks up one of the rushing defensive ends for the Giants.Marooney in the backfield appears to stay in the backfield to block but then slides out into the vacated area for the swing pass from Brady.
Maroney pickups 15 yards before Giant linebacker can't react to the play because Welker was in the slot for his normal 10 yard slant.:00hour
They have used this play 3 times at least during the post season.
Once against S.D. for 9 yards.
(Shotgun) 12-T.Brady pass short left to 39-L.Maroney to SD 11 for 9 yards
Twice against the Jacksonville pass rush
(Shotgun) 12-T.Brady pass short left to 39-L.Maroney pushed ob at JAC 45 for 33 yards (27-R.Mathis).
(Shotgun) 12-T.Brady pass short left to 39-L.Maroney to NE 26 for 7 yards
Possible for this play to go for a TD for the Pats in one of their visits to the "Red Zone."
