I'm coming off another winning week!

As for the Super Bowl, I decided to take my earnings from the season and run since I have a few square numbers going and believe this is going to be a game that will be a battle to the end.

Super Bowl
Lean Only:

New York Giants +3 (-125)
over Patriots
The Giants beat the Pats 24-20 in NE back in week No 9 despite being without HB Bradshaw and WR Nicks two key ingredients for the G-Men during their late season run...this game will be a chess match between two Bill Parcell's deciples and although the trends point to a lower scoring game both teams are expected to play a no-huddle up-tempo game at times on Sunday...The Pats have to run the ball effectively to keep the Giants D-Line honest and keep them from teeing off on Brady, how the Patriots O-Line handles the Giants pass rush will go along way in the outcome of this game...but most importantly the Pats need a banged up Rob Gronkowski to be healthy enough to be play and be effective for their passing attack and also as a blocker because he's a key component since the Pats use a ton of two TE sets...Gronkowski played in 96% of the offensive plays for the Pats this season...If Gronkowski can't go, don't be surprised if OT Nate Solder lines up as a TE with Sebastian Vollmer playing OT on running plays and Solder checking in as a tackle eligable on passing plays since he's a former TE with the athletic ability to do so...I expect the Pats to use an up-tempo no huddle offense at times to keep the Giants from substituting their D-Linemen...on the flip side the Giants also need to run the ball 20+ times in the game to keep their offense balanced which is when Eli Manning is the most effective...I also expect the Giants to use a up-tempo no huddle offense at times to keep the Pats D off balance and wear down Vince Wilfork and the Pats Defense...the Giants WR's have a big edge with three strong WR targets (Cruz, Nicks and Manningham)going against a shakey Patriots secondary in this game.

Trends - The Giants have some incredible trends pointing their way: The Giants are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a SU win, 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following an ATS win, 7-0 ATS vs a team with a winning record, 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games as an underdog, 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall, 8-0 ATS in their last 8 playoff games as an underdog,8-1 ATS in their last 9 playoff games, 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games on fieldturf, 4-1ATS in their last 5 playoff games as an underdog of 0.5-3.0, and the Giants are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings with the Patriots...on the flip side the Patriots are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games following a ATS loss, but just 1-7 ATS in their last 8 playoff games and just 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 Super Bowl appearances.

Notes - The Giants have 20 players with Super Bowl expericence while the Pats have 11...Only 3 times in his career has Brady lost to a team twice in one season...Rob Gronkowski's agent Drew Rosenhaus stated that Gronk's high ankle sprain is serious enough that he wouldn't be playing on Sunday if it wasn't the Super Bowl game.

Bottom Line - The injury to Gronkowski and the fact that the Pats secondary matches up poorly against the Giants passing attack doesn't bode well for the Pats, however the team has added incentive in this game playing in the memory of owner Robert Kraft's wife Myra Kraft who passed away last summer...I expect Tom Brady to be at his best on Sunday since Brady made a promise to Robert Kraft that he would play better in the Bowl after last weeks poor showing in the Ravens game...but with all that stated, Im leaning toward the Giants plus the
small number in a very close game because their D-Line should be able to put more pressure on the QB, they have better matchups on the offensive side of the ball and the high ankle sprain that Gronkowski will try to play on will keep him from being way less than 100%, which is the biggest factor which has swayed me toward the Giants...However, I wouldn't be shocked if the Pats win the game, but I'd be surprised if this game isn't decided in the fourth quarter and it could turn out to be one of the best Super Bowls of all time!
New York 26 New England 23

*I lowered the final score in the game from 30-27 Giants to 26-23 Giants. 02/03 - 06:46 pm est
