"The most famous example occurred in 1979, forever known in Las Vegas as Black Sunday. The Steelers opened a 2-point favorite over the Cowboys, and was bet up to 5, then back down to 3. Bookmakers all across the country were sweating and screaming when the Steelers won the game, 35-31. "

I watched that '81 Super Bowl with a friend at his neighor's house and was pulling for Eagles against Raiders. I think Bill Bergey was the MLB. Of course there was Jaworski at QB, Montgomery at RB I think? Eagles had a tall WR by name of Carmichael back in those days but I'm not sure he was there that year. Can't remember other names from that era but would recognize them if I heard them. As for the Raiders they had a pretty rough collection of characters in those days too.

here the key, if the eagles can stay focus on this game and don't enjoy just being there this will be a key factor

I agree with that statement. The eagles have finally gotten over losing 3 NFC championships. Will they be happy with that accomplishment and call it a successful season even if they don't win the superbowl?
