Hampton; had late leads in the other two, but Padres insurance company not the only ones suffering financially from Hoffman shelving. I'd have been thrilled just to bag that one.
I might public-pass today, but using the Force gives me the following inklings (sic?):
Phils@Reds under 10: HP Winters shouldn't hurt; Padilla and Wilson both w/solid outtings lately; HR still preferred method of scoring for Reds, and Padilla can be stingy there; both clubs have had one stinker, offensively, in series; CONTRA: both clubs have smoked opposition once in series; Wilson started Reds 7-6 win (vs Myers) in 1st meeting of season @Cinergy
Cards@NYY under 9: starters ... ump don't help, and latest outtings not encouraging. Need one starter, at least, to do some solid work, or see-ya
Cubs@Jays under 10: +money, Cubs bats maybe cool, Jays not so hot vs lefties; CONTRA: ump, Estes underachieving, Lidle not as sharp as early season, Jays BP capable of blowing anything
Jays: -135 looks like a gift ... Saddam Hussein looks like a nice guy ...
Rockies: Jennings over Knotts any day; Rocks bats over T's bats any day; CONTRA: Tigers pen better, Rocks a joke on road, Tigers on 1-game winning streak
Dodgers@Tigers under 9: Nomo sharp and Traber has potential to join "sharp" ranks, both clubs offensive jugger-NOTS; BP's solid; CONTRA: ump "just says no" to unders, LA does "best" bat work vs lefties
Brewers: Sheets is not as sheet as he has shown, pitching better lately; Brews with more pop; Lopez bad lately - not done much all season, Quevedo start and O's score 3; CONTRA: O's bats still going (19 in prev. 3 before yesterday), this is the Brewers
Twins: Radke maybe solving troubles, based on last start; Twins off. edge, and bounce back well from poor showing; Dessens is overpaid (whatever he makes); CONTRA: Dessens likely to may me look silly, one hot start by Radke not enough evidence, Twins better on road this year, pricey
Astros: Miller over Kim, lately for sure; Astros bats capable of keeping up, monster BP edge; CONTRA: Kim not crap, Bosox bats WAY-not crap
Chisox: this Perez worse; Chi hitting lefties; Garland occasionally surprises w/beauty start; Padres BP a Padres-backer nightmare; CONTRA: Chisox scoring yesterday via HR's, not their strong suit on season; Pads hitting better lately; Perez a slight X-factor
Expos@A's under 8: both O's can be very comedic, Expos in particular, lately, without key man Vlady G.; both starters capable of posting zero-age; both pens solid; ump not factor; CONTRA: both have off-days tomorrow so may let it all hang out here; not much else ... # is low, but solid start by both SP's not a longshot
Expos: Vazquez at +170 probably never insane; CONTRA: Hudson; A's 22-10 at home; A's bats better, probably BP slightly
Angels: Trashsel returning to the expected (NOT particularly sharp); Angels 18-14 at home while Mets 14-20 away; large offensive edge; Mets a joke, especially lately (.173 past 10) vs leties; Washburn a very sharp lefty - having career season, despite W-L (6-6) not showing so; CONTRA: Mets bats swinging much better lately; Angels bats unpredictable this year
--this one tempting me most; would have to be run-line
Marlins: Redman more appealing than Thomson; Rangers have had troubles vs lefties; CONTRA: Marlins have had more trouble vs righties lately (.227 p10) than Rangers have had w/leties (.270 p10); looks like a coin-toss
Hope it works out for you
