BUT, do you really believe in them?
I know I don't and always thought I was smarter than people who did because I DIDN'T believe in them. I'm starting to re-think my position.
Playing Craps yesterday I noticed the following:
Superstition #1 at the Craps table, keep your hands from touching the dice once they are thrown because Craps players believe if the dice hit your hands it will cause them to land on a 7.
Three times yesterday the dice hit someones hand and three times the dice landed on 7.
Superstition #2, DON'T FUCK WITH THE SHOOTER WHEN HE IS ON A GOOD ROLL.
After a ton of "one and done's" we finally get a guy making a few point and throwing number after number. Shooter does the same thing every time. Gets the dice, sets them on 1 and 3 and tosses them down without much delay. He is sailing along and gets the dice, sets them on 1 and 3 and the guy to my left says "hold on, I wanna press my 6 and 8". He throws out $10 and the dealer reminds him it's $12. He then decides "never-mind, take all my bets down, I have a bad feeling about this roll".
Everyone at the table is looking square at him at this point and, sure enough, the shooter tosses a 7. Dumbass then says out loud "see, I told you" as if we were going to applaud him for calling it.
He got berated to the point he picked up his chips and moved to another table.
I'm still new to the game of Craps, but I do get to play quite a bit and I've just seen scenarios like this happen over and over agian.
Am I the one who is nuts for NOT believing in this stuff?
