HELL
Tough not to go against Detroit every week. Really, young QB, traded away their best receiver maybe, CJ dinged up last week, and no running game. As for Pittsburgh, if you still have them, after Cincy, their next 4 games are against I think NY Giants, Wash, Indy or SD.....tough to use them in any of those spots IMO.

Here
Pittsburgh anyone.....

I am torn between NYG, Pit, and Hou...

  • I really think Hou will be the flavor of the week.
  • Pit is on the road and I told myself this year to not go with road teams no matter how good!
  • NYG may be my pick. I think a lot of people will shy away from them cause of MNF. SF going cross country and playing at 10 am PST may be enough for a win!
Thoughts?

Above the Clouds....
Giants have looked tough except on Mon nite. They were picked 3rd in the division. The loss probably helped more than hurt. Eli's health?

Let down for Houston in a hard fought game? It's tough!!!

Hey guys, am not anywhere near a computer tomorrow so i decided to go with the Giants on Sunday. I think that losing on national tv will get Coughlin to refocus his team this weekend. I have also been following the "west team going two time zones east and playing at 10 am PTD" trend and it favors the Giants. Lastly, the Giants are near top of every statistical defensive category and the 9ers are close to last or dead last in most categories.

GL to all of you this weekend...... I never thought I would say this, but GO GIANTS!

I really really want to pick Houston but as mentioned, flavor of the week and Detroit needs to win one game. Why not Houston? It just feels like the one everyone will pick and lose on. I could be wrong, but like to go with my gut feelings.

Best leans to me are Washington at home avenging a horrible loss to STL- I dont think Cleveland has a chance even though they played well vs. the Giants.
I'm also thinking TENN but I hate taking road favorites- KC knocked a whole load of people out when they beat Denver.

Thoughts?

i went with the giants this week. i think its a great spot for the g-men at home vs sf traveling cross country for a 1pm game. Jacobs had a big game vs sf last year and i see him getting about 110 yds and a td or two. Coughlin will have the team ready on sunday. giants need this game with a tough road game vs pitt next weekend.

Now Im thinking the best pick is Tampa at Home vs. a Hasslebeck-less Seahawks.

Thoughts? I dont want the national TV spotlight to give Seneca Wallace the confidence to beat a tough TB Defense.

That' what I went with. Traveling cross country with a backup qb to play that D, I'll roll the dice.

Here's our pools breakdown:

Dallas 2
Houston 12
Giants 3
Pitt 2
Tampa 17
Tenn 7
Washington 1

Consensus pick in my league has still yet to cover ATS, just an fyi.

Best of luck.

Lean to Washington but man, I really want to take Houston. Detroit is just bad and without Calvin Johnson [haven't heard the latest on him], how can they score? Houston's offense has been good lately.

Anyone else liking the Texans?

I have decided to keep it simple and go with the Giants for this week. The 49ers is just a bad team with JTO prone to turnovers and they have to travel to the East Coast to play in the early time slot against a Giants team decidedly more focus after getting embarrassed on Prime Time this past Monday.

I just think the Giants will get it done here before they enter a tough stretch ahead. There are a lot of question marks with the other matchups and I feel this is my safest route for this week.

Sexlexia...
For those of us who like to think history repeats...

Houston in a 23-0 SU spot (since 1989)...(off small ats loss as home fav)
Detroit in an 0-10 SU. (ats win due to fewer TO's)

Cleveland 0-30 SU! (Big dog off home win as big dog.)

San Fran 0-26 SU spot. (Big dog, high total off a decent ats loss)...

So basically I'm happy to take any of those 3.

Originally had NY planned, but will see if they can be used somewhere later on.
Not likely to be a better spot for Houston?

oh well....my pool didn't lose anyone. Went with Houston. Glad to get them out of the way.

Week 8 looks to be tough. My early looks from last week don't look so good now. I'll wait and let the Week 8 thread start for the discussion.
