Currently, I am leaning Houston over KC.

Also considering:
Dallas
Minnesota
Oakland

I agree that this week is relatively tough so I think it's a good idea to take a shot with one of the games above. Obviously Dallas is the best of those teams so I am leaning to the others. All are home with good shots at winning. Oakland really scares me but they should be greatly improved now that Art Shell is no longer the coach. Although I think Atlanta stinks, Minny scares me mostly because of Tavaris Jackson but I think they are going to run all over the Falcons and the defense should be able to contain a weak Falcon offense.

Oakland is OUT now that they named McCown the starter over Culpepper.

Still leaning Houston but also strongly considering Minnesota at this point.

You gotta go strong from the start. Paraphrasing what they say bout poker tournaments, you can't win the pool the first week, but you damn sure can lose it.

Taking the colts tonight as week 1 pick. Just trying to take a stab at week one. Plus it will make the game more interesting for me tonight.

Not completely out if it loses. In this pool you can re-enter if you lose week 1 for $50. After the 2nd week if you get knocked out you can re-enter for $100. After that when you out your out.

Son told me his stepbrother is going to pick either Seattle or Minnesota. Hasnt decided yet.

I have Minnesota in a couple of pools and Seattle in couple of others

We wil have to see how the Seahawks is gonna pull this one out

Jacksonville, Philadelphia and St. Louis have knocked out a bunch in my respective pools. I was hoping for the Bills to get it done as well but it wasn't meant to be. Let's see what the G-men can do tonight

Good luck to all and surviving we shall!

Nice opening week ... I had Houston is one pool and Minnesota in the other ... quite a few had Jacksonville so I couldn't have asked for a better start.

Last year, I made it to week 15 and used many 'weak' teams the first few weeks and the previous year, I went 17-0 and lost a friggin tie-breaker to a guy which sucked more than losing the first week!

As of right now 710 people left in pool. 158 have the option to buy back in.
Son and his step brother both survived by picking seattle the 1st week.

On to week 2.

Best bet for Survivor pools this week will be (assuming you guys still have these teams available)

Pittsburgh, at home and not a divisional matchup, Bills' minds are decidedly elsewhere with Everett's situation, J.P Losman is just a train wreck, losing Nate Clements in the off-season was huge, maybe you can flip a coin and say that the Bills is determined to do something for Kevin but I beg to differ, the talent level is just not there to get the job done

Jacksonville, at home and not a divisional matchup either, Atlanta and Joey Harrington simply stink, Jack Del Rio needs to win now to save his own job

Don't overthink it folks, i know the expression *1 week at a time* is a well-worn cliche but it's well worth repeating times and again for this type of Pools. Worry about what teams to take next week after Monday.

Peace

What does everyone think of Baltimore? My gut is the Jags, but looking down the road I don't know if I'll have another chance to use the Ravens in such a strong spot.
