Had Colts last week and wasn't impressed to say the least when the score was 21-21 in the 3rd. Was thinking Saints this week, but now not so sure. Saints are 1-6 on the road, the defense stinks, & the Lions could eek out a W at home.

Denver is a possibility, but if SD loses to Tampa then the game becomes meaningless. Sure wish the SD game wasn't at 1:00 pm.

Patriots might be the play, but I'm not comfortable with it. I know Arizona is traveling east and has stunk it up on the east coast, but you know they are going to want to come out strong after Sunday's performance.

Anybody have any other suggestions?

The three plays I'm considering are:

New Orleans at Detroit - Not crazy about this due to the reasons you stated.

New England vs. Arizona - After yesterday, I probably like this the best.

Chicago vs. Green Bay - GB looks beaten and Chicago is playing for something on a Monday night. Probably not a bad play.

I am staying away from NO. They have zero to play for, and detroit will play their hearts out because they know they will not win in GB, so this is the last chance for a win.

Detroit can hang with teams that do not have a run game, without Bush, NO is just an average run team. I personally, think Detroit wins by DD

Houston may be a good choice. They have been a good team all year and have played quality football.

Cleveland is another option.

Denver is a possibility, same with Miami

This is the toughest week of the year. I expect we will lost half the pool this week. I will probably find the biggest spread of the teams I have left and lay some on the ML.

Z-Town -

Do you only need a SU win? If so, I would lean towards NE. The boys from the Desert are in for an a$$ whooping. NE by 2 TDs+

Straight up only. I am leaning Patriots. Just hope they don't have a klunker of a game.

The Browns are an option, but I think I would rather not pin my hopes on that team no matter who they play.

Wouldn't mind seeing the Eagles take a dump tonight to get rid of a few still remaining.

I was on the cruise and vacation for more than a week and thankfully both my picks survived: Titans for Week 14 and Dolphins for Week 15 (I was at the game, what a rush)

We are now down to 4 and for Week 16 I am looking at the following teams that I still have available

San Francisco: I know taking a road team is never a wise thing in this Pool but I have been impressed with the 49ers plays since Singletary took over. I am a Rams fan and this team simply blows.

Houston: Another dicey call but I don't have many good teams left and if it's time to make another ballsy call, it is now. The Texans are putting things together while the Raiders are recording another double-digit losses season.

Denver: Possibly my best bet, they need to win for a playoff position

Chicago: I tend to shy away from prime-time game and divisional matchup but this is a good spot to take the Bears who needs a win.

Your thoughts ?

I don't have New England available.

Down to 5 in 2 separate pools. I used New England early:

Currently looking at:

Houston: playing well, Oakland sux, road team, tho.

New Orleans: probably off, because of reasons stated early in the forum. Detroit may come to play.

New York Jets: Lot's to play for, only downside is road team at Seattle ( a team built for turnovers).

Denver: Home team, needs to get rolling against a Bills team that has tanked.

Eliminated Cleveland...after Monday night, UGH!

Leaning to Houston or Denver.:mj06:

The Bills are a train wreck. My advice is to take Denver coming off a bad road loss. Just the fact that Denver is at home and has Cutler is enough for me to think they are going to win against Buffalo.

I called in Denver, but I can change it. My only 2 options now are Denver and Houston. Will most likely take Denver since they are at home

snoozer, I don't feel comfy about Denver. Can you put in your picks right before game time or do you have to have it in by 1 p.m., as is customary with most Pools ?

Reason I am asking is I believe if Tampa beats San Diego (and by all accounts, they should do that), Denver won't have anything to play for. Trent Edwards is also starting I believe, he's a definite upgrade over J.P. Losman. That and Marshawn Lynch who can run wild over this Broncos D.

Houston is another dicey pick.

I am torn between those 2 and the Saints. I can also go for the Bears but if the Vikings beat the Falcons then Chicago doesn't really have anything to play for either.

Would most agree that NE is a good play this week if they are available for you? I'm basically down to them, NO and Chicago. I clearly like them the best.

I have NE, Denver, or Saints on my list. I lean to NE. Must win game and at home. Like it was mentioned, Denver probably won't have anything to play for and Lynch should run wild. The Saints really should have no problem scoring on the Lions, but that Saints Def is crap and the Lions "could" pull a rabbit out of the hat this weekend. Plus Saints have nothing to play for either.

I hope the Cards get frostbit and don't give a maximum effort. However, I can see them coming out strong and hanging in there the whole game. They got embarrassed last week and I think will be very competitive this week.

Would like to hear some thoughts from the Patriot backers.

I understand TB, but why cincy? Why would you risk your entire season on a road dog? Home dog maybe, road fav perhaps, but if you have TB and they are a home fav, that would seem to be the best bet.

I finally bowed out of my last Survivor Pool, taking Houston today. I wasn't home to follow the scores or watch the game or anything but I guess the Raiders showed up to play today and for that I gave them props.

I was leaning Denver and San Fran as I alluded to previous posts but Denver went down as well and San Fran lucked out in the end. I should have considered New Orleans because the Detroit Football Lions is just a terrible team but hindsight is 20/20.

In my experience (at least for this year), the upsets seem to happen more often at the 4 p.m. games, them dogs certainly barked loud and clear today for the afternoon tilts. I normally go with a favorite at the 1 p.m. time slot and just sit back and relax for the rest of the day but with a lack of options, I went with the Texans and paid for it. Just something to keep in mind maybe for next year.

It's been a great ride so far, going until the 2nd last week of the season. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the Survivor Pools players (and other members) who regularly contributed their thoughts and tidbits in this thread. It is certainly a tough season for us but you bet we will be doing this all over again in 10 months' time.

Cheers!

Went with the Pats. Thought about Denver but thanks to some of you guys I went Patriots. Was looking at the Falcons in week #17, but since they clinched a playoff spot I will take a look at some other options.
