I'm not disagreeing about marquette being the play but this team actually plays better in a half court set at times than in the break. Look at the end of their season....BC, Virginia, Miami, FSU...all grind out games with a slow tempo and half court offense and they were all Ws.

Marshall is not a quick PG, great passer yes but quick no. When Drew left the offense actually slowed down a bit and as a result the offense became much more productive. Look at offensive numbers before and after Drew, it had nothing to do with speed it had to do with efficiency.

Saint, I'm looking closely at this game, so I wanted to check the points that you made. UNC played Virginia Jan. 8th, so closer to the beginning of the season than the end. As far as BC and Miami are concerned, UNC only won by 2 pts. in both of these low scoring games, not to mention that neither team made the tournament.

If you are going to take a veiled shot at me, at least be right. Go pull a history of my posts here, I'm actually very unbiased when it comes to wagering or even discussing Carolina.

You completely missed the point. First off, I didn't say Marquette wasn't the play...it is the way to go.

Thunder brought up his opinion that UNC plays better in the run. Traditionally this is true. I don't post much on other teams but I can guarantee you I know Carolina better than just about anyone here with the exception of Bart. With Marshall at point this team is actually much better at half court.

In fact, the reason they have struggled at times IMO is because Roy only knows one thing...push, push, push, and the reality is that he has a team right now that plays better when they drop it down a gear or two.

My point in bringing up those games wasn't to compare those teams to Marquette, or even to suggest the outcome of those games is any indication of tonight. The point was that most ACC teams chose to grind it out with Carolina and they had no problem winning out of half court sets. Which is contrary to what Thunder said. k. Marshall is not great going full speed his is great pulling back, letting the floor spread and then hitting the seams.

I agree, there's a good chance we lose SU, if we win and it's a grind out game then it will be close as all the others have. In the small even Carolina opens it up they will pull away but the other situations are more likely.

Sorry to take over your thread, back at it Thunder.
