Sweet 16... Thursday

UCLA +5 (-120) for 8* - Florida has been fairly lucky to keep winning easily, but face a team playing really well right now and who should give them some matchup problems. Realize Florida is a very physical team and not sure Bruins will bang very well against them. However, I really like UCLA in this spot to keep this game damn close and maybe win SU.

San Diego State +8 for 8* - Arizona looked great against Gonzaga... However, their facing an Aztecs team with revenge on their mind and fairly close to their campus so I would expect fans to be fairly even (Zona travels well). See a grinder of a game where points will be at a premium and believe the scrappy Aztecs keep it close. Line opened at 6 and sharps and squares pounding Zona. I'll go the other way expecting a tight contest.

Leaning towards Baylor right now. Realize coaching edge for Wisky is huge, but Bears are rolling. They ran out of gas vs. Iowa State in the Big 12 Championship (4th game in 4 days), but they play a tough zone and guys like Austin, Jefferson, Heslip, Chery, and Gathers are all playing great at the moment.

Really undecided on Stanford vs. Dayton, but leaning Cardinal. However, Dayton shoots the trey very well and have already knocked off a couple giants in Ohio State and Syracuse. Probably see where the line heads and grab the maximum value either way.

Baylor +4 (-120) for 8* - Last 2 times Baylor made the Sweet 16, they won. This team is hitting on all cylinders at the moment and won't surprise me if they win their region and come home for the Final 4. What a story it would be for a team which started 2-8 in conference. Wisky's starters include 4 of 5 white guys which is rare for a major program. While they play well together, I am worried they won't matchup very well athletically with the Bears. Going with my gut and it says Bears!

Stanford -2.5 (-120) for 8* - The Atlantic 10 is 2-5 in the Big Dance with both wins coming from Dayton. While the Flyers played great against Ohio State, they actually just survived a real ugly game with Syracuse where the halftime score was 20-18. Stanford didn't look like world beaters vs Kansas, but did win. I believe the team from the better conference finds a way to survive and advance tonight.

So 3 puppies and 1 favorite... hopefully a 3-1 night!opcorn2
