Syracuse is 15-7 this year with their best win being Iowa.....They were not going to the NCAA tournament anyway...Who cares about the NIT? So Syracuse is self imposing a ban for the NIT? What a joke!!!!

Was thinking exact same thing. Infractions from years ago and this is worst syr. Team in years. If they were19-3 instead they would be waiting for NCAA to sort it out. Anyone who thinks there is any element of altruism or honesty to this is naive.

We all know why they did not impose the ban last year.....We will do it this year because we are not going to the dance this year :popcorn2

It does not just include the NCAA or NIT tournament it is also the ACC tournament. Please everyone step off their fucking high horse... Syracuse imposing a ban is a big deal...

How will the players react? Will they care to play? Cover spreads? Etc... it is news that should matter to all of us as sports bettors. I don't care about their quality wins or losses.. I care they are 1-8-1 ATS their last 10 and 5-4-1 to the over.

Why so nasty? Seems like we are talking about 2 different things. 1. Why they are doing it now and 2. How it Will affect lines\betting etc. Nobody said it wasn't a big deal. Just question timing.

Seriously......Why the name calling? I am questioning the timing of the ban....We all know why they are doing now instead of last year, the year before, etc....:0corn

NCAA should see right through this decision by SU and realize it is a farce as they were going to collapse down the stretch once they get into tough part of schedule and had no chance at all if making tourney. NCAA will likely tack on another year of postseason ban to punish them for this farce. As for betting SU games, this is terrible news. I was making a killing betting against them every game. They are on amazing losing streak against the spread. I was planning to pound Pittsburgh likely at -4 or -5 or so this weekend against SU but now the line is likely going to be much higher and who knows how SU players will react to ban. So yes, this is bad news for betting.
