Cuse over Iona -10 *****
1st big play of the year....Can't see it being that close despite Cuse has young kids and lost a lot...Cuse has the best 5 guys on the court inclusing Iona's ... Battle is tough and back from lyr...the Canadian kid Brissett is big time..could be the top frosh in the country..he is a 6'8 fd...the front line is huge with 7'2 Chuck,and two 6'9 fd-centers..Moyer is 6'8...they put Chuk in the middle of the zone..then add USF transfer Thorpe 6'4 at gd...weakness is pt gd in Howard...but he should improve..they did lose top scorer in Thompson but although young they have depth...they play that 2-3 and with an aircraft carrier inside and big wings they will give Iona big time problems...Iona has no front line..Wash graduated and Edogi stepped in...their strength has always been gds that can shoot the 3...they play no defense but just keep chucking up 3's...they can beat the MAAC teams with that but when they play the big boys they get beat..last yr they made the NCAA's but FSU and Neveda scored 99 and 91..they played Oregon on the NCAA's and gave up 93...McGill is there best player at gd and can penetrate ...but where does he go tonite after penetrating...Chuck is 7'2 at the post...Cuse should dominate the paint...extend the 2-3...and Iona just lost to Albany by 2 the other nite and is shooting 18% from the 3..now I know that will get better but it will be hard tonite to get open 3's...Much there other shooter shoots almost 2 handed shots...he has to be open by 4 feet to get his shot off...Iona can't score inside..so they depend on outside shooting to open the middle...can't see it happen.. Boe does have a young team but their talented as hell...think because of their youth they stay with iona for awhile but at some point they will wear down...game is in the Dome...its Iona's super bowl game of the year...but when they play a team with depth,more athletic and can score they are historically in trouble....and losing their top player in Cassell and only inside player they hadfor 4 years in Washington is to much...Cuse needs a point gd..if Howard gets his act together and can distribute the ball the Cuse will make some big noise in the ACC...think they win by 15-20 tonite..
