SU has lost WR taj Smith for the season with a busted collarbone. Smith had emerged as a bonafide speed threat for SU, a team that has sufered from lack of any speed from skill players on offence.

I think this will set the Orange offense back a bit. This week Wyoming comes into the Dome. Cowboys have a strong defense and a running based offense. SU has been very good on defensive side of the ball all year. I lookk for a low scoring game here.

Syr has covered their L6 games ATS. Wy lost a tough game to Virg 12-13. Last year Virg came to the dome with a far better team and beat Syr by 3. Syr is a better team at this point this yr.

I agree that they have improved but the loss of Smith is going to hurt. moss and lane scare nobody on the outside. Williams has not shown that he is ready and lodell has disappeared.

Wyoming has a good defense. i see alot of three and outs for Cuse this week.

Couldn't agree more on the (WR) stuff, you know there is a but though. Syracuse has a team similar to AF, the way their (OL) matches up with the Wy (DL). Everyone but Utah St has run the ball on this team. I scouted and backed Wy last wk. Their qb is good enough to beat Syr with his arm , Don't think he will be given enough time but why give him the chance ? If I had anything to do with the game plan I would run the ball all day. Wy only had the ball 19 minutes against AF. Wy strength is the passing game / weakness is their run defense. I don't see how anyone can say Wy has a good Defense. Syr as a team physically pushed Iowa around for 4 quarters, I don't think they will see more from the cowboys. NOTE: it's early but 65% of the money is on SYR and the line has come down. Key factor : young team on a 0-4 SU road run ,confidence level low. Lean for now on SYR

Just a bit of technical info:

Syracuse is 21-3 ATS at home, off a home game.....9-1 in their last ten in that role......not to mention 18-2-2 at home vs non-conference opponents.

Food for thought......even if the place is not sold out and rocking like the old days.....a different Orange comes out to play on the Carrier Dome carpet.......

I think that Wyoming's 3-4 will give SU some problems. Nobody plays it in BE, no opponent this years has played it either.

I saw patterson regress last week, again, and think loss of smith is going to hurt the whole offense as again, no speed on outside to keep teams honest. we saw it all last year byran. as good as Rhodes was, he never had no where to run as teams packed it in, stuffed the rush, threw pressure at patterson constantly.

I agree that SU is very physical...on defense. The offense has lacked toughness over past 1 1/2 years. i think the offense sputters here, settles for 3's while the D shuts Wyoming down, similiar to what a inferior Virgina defense did.
