you can maybe argue nelson is near fords level.
but knight? gimmie a break.
he is a great LEADER, but as far as a point guard- talk to me when he gets over 55% from the free throw line. all discussion of him being the best starts and ends at the free throw line.

ZMAN,

Did you watch the same game I watched. Ford had 19 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. What else do you want from a point guard? Gardner (Arizona) and Thomas (Notre Dame) might be better, but give me a break!

TJ IS KING. WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT HIM TO DO ? HE KILLS TEAMS. TX IS GOOD, BUT WO/TJ THEY WOULD NOT STILL BE IN THE TOURNEY. MAYBE HOLLIS PRICE IS AS GOOD, BUT TJ IS THE MAN. HE WAS GOOD LAST YEAR. HE IS GREAT THIS YEAR.

Price has the heart of a lion. . . No, make that two. I'd love to see an OU/tx rematch and exact some revenge. Excuse me while I get ahead of myself. We still need to get past Cinderfella.

let me clarify. i think tj ford is an excellent point guard. i've watched him play about 20 times in the last 2 years. i've watched jameer nelson play countless times in the last 3 years. seen him live about 6 times. this guy gets no where near the recognition he deserves. trump, jameer nelson ate auburn alive. 32 points, 29 in second half, 19 of his teams final 21 points. 2 free throws w/ .5 seconds left. if this guy played for duke, he'd be player of the year. gman, maybe i went a little overboard on the knight comment.

I hear ya. He's good. You just said what you should've stated in your first post. "He gets no where near the recognition he deserves." That's true, but you came out saying that Jameer is better than Ford. I doubt you'll find many people here to back you on that. I HATE TEXAS, but I will give the kid props where props are due. The statement I made about Auburn was just a little dig. Although, where was Jameer in the first half it was almost like he was sleep walking.

the hawks were nervous and athletically challenged in the first half vs. auburn. when nelson realized carroll was a deer in the headlights and west wasn't nearly full strength, he carried the team on his back.

Nelson is better than ford as a college player in many respects. If Nelson was not on St. Joes, they might with 6 games or so. He does everything for that team and is absolutely amazing. To me, it is no comparison.

I agree, Nelson is a tad better than Ford, but it's very close. He's got that rare extra gear and he makes some wild shots. He also carries that team, especially with West out.

But Brandin Knight is not as good as either of them, and it aint that close.

I agree, Ford and Nelson close of course. And Knight, um, not even close!

Only thing Brandin Knight does is WIN.
AND........take a team picked Last in their division by the coaches
to a 4 loss season (last year)
Same team this year...........NO STARS..........NOT EVEN CLOSE...to a superstar on the team.
They are like assassains out there .......slow and sure, deliberate,
and they have a general second to NONE. Not as flashy perhaps, fast etc. as some but NONE are better at making ALL the unheralded on this team into Big time WINNERS. THAT is what the point is supposed to do! Nobody has done it better this year!

bear, I agree as far as leading your team and being a winner Knight is right up there. But He's got 10x the help Nelson does. He's a great PG and a winner, but I think the other two are better players.

i used to play pickup ball with him about 2 Springs ago....also played vs Daniel Ewing (Duke) and Kenny Taylor (Baylor)....now that is a heck of a HS backcourt!!! (Willowridge HS....also had Ivan McFarland -- big guy for Okie State)

needless to say i was way out of my league....slow white guy out there.... at least i was quick enough to SEE him go by me!!! lol

ZMAN is NOT the best poster on Madjack's. hellah10 from Toledo is better. for that matter so is dr. freeze.

Who really cares? The fact that you post this AFTER he put up sick numbers just shows your inability to judge talent. He should have had 12 assists yesterday if it wasn't for the rest of our players jackin' everything.

TJ is about winning though. If he has to keep the ball and make the goals, he will do it. He is not a one man team, but he adds an extra dimension to the team that they did not have two years ago. He's the consummate team player.

Nelson has a great positive attitude that's why he looks better, and physically stonger!!

Ford is really, really good, but has problems of ego to my perception, he plays just when he think, he can be the man!!

and Nelson all the game is playing with intensity, a realy lion heart with great skills!!

but what the hell, is a pleasure see them both playing a great ball game :D
