do any of you know if this cell phone vendor is worth a damn ? they have a special for 5000 min for 129 per mp. includes long dis and free n & w. this is considerably better than the other big name providers. any experiences from the forum would be appreciated.

Where do you live? The reason I ask is because once the AT&T and Cingular merger is going to leave T-Mobile without coverage on the west coast (very complicated process, but TMobile piggybacks off the Cingular antennas on the west coast and Cingular does the same on the TMobile sites in the east to be brief)

Since I work in telecom, and am exposed to these sites every day -I can honestly say that in the NYC area T-Mobile has sites everywhere, but are a headache to deal with. This won't be a problem as a customer, but as someone who does work for another carrier, T-Mobile's sites and business practices suck if you ask me.

I see you live in Memphis my advice would be to ask around and see how people like T-Mobile in your home area -- I do agree with you if they have good coverage you can't beat their prices.

Gotta talk to people in your areas -- these antenna signals are so localized now that they don't even go a mile or so, that's why you see sites everywhere.

Your best bet is to ask around in the Memphis area, and try to find out if people are satisfied. Don't quote me on this, but I believe TMobile does have their own sites in Tennessee so the Cingular merger will not be an issue.

i can only speak for myself, but i think tmobile is far and away the best cell phone provider in the country. very rarely will i step out and really speak out on a consumer thing like this because everything in this country has their good points and bad points.

but i kinda serendipitously found a great provider. was really just browsing phones 2 years ago. walked in a tmobile store with no intention to buy. saw they had a nice promotion going, gave it a try, and have been really happy with them.

their customer service is outstanding. every time i call on the phone, theyre really polite and helpful.

had a problem with one of their phones about 6 months after i bought it. i explained the problem and they sent me out a new one on 2nd day ups ground delivery and all i had to pay was the shipping for the replacement phone (at the time, the samsung model was retailing for 249.99 so i was impressed with how they took care of me)

only thing i can possibly think of as a drawback is that their coverage isnt that great once you get too far off major cities and highways. all of my friends and family are in major cities and all my travel is on major highways so ive never had a problem with their service but i think verizon has the best all-around coverage no matter where youre calling from.
